***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

Well I have FIFA 12 - not played more than 5 mins been a little too busy :(
Virtual Tennis - my fav game so far, played mainly online and love it, really good game.
Stardust - enjoyable game but can't play for more than 10 mins at a time.

Getting BlazBlue today or tomo and looking forward to that.

/agreed

Coolshop are fantastic, the new Shopto when they were cheap and prompt, Shopto have used their reputation to charge more.. Coolshop are at the stage where they send games early and a cheap price

I'll check them out :)

I managed to get a PS Vita with a 4gb card and lumines for £185. Used but in excellent condition.

Has any members been testing there screens for Dead/Lazy Pixels!?
Been many cases of this?
I only ask, because I ordered online, in it will be a PITA to return..

Sony's response to Dead/Lazy Pixels
http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/a...TMzMDEyODI5Mi9zaWQveDg2R0N4Ums=/locale/en_GB/

Mine has no dead pixels. I've heard of a couple of people with issues but not many, only one on here and he didn't notice it while actually playing so didn;t plan on returning it.

That line from Sony is normal form panel manufacturers, if you returned it to the store they'd replace it.

LOL

After a massive lecture about trying to save money, our shocking childcare costs (we have four kids), and her lack of free cash to spend in River Island she tells me she was thinking of buying me one for my birthday (about 5 weeks away) :D

looks like im getting uncharted now instead and NOTHING else lol

NICE! Don;t forget Motorstorm! Excellent for under a fiver and a nice change from Ucharted.

Noticed most brand new games on the US PSN are about £20-22 to buy, tempted to make myself a US PSN account just to get them cheaper

Yep, just be warned that you can only play those games on the account that you bought them on unlike on the PS3. You can change accounts and pay other stuff but you'll never be able to play your US DD games on your UK account.

So I can get Vita(wifi), uncharted, 16gb card for £215. Decent price?

What else is worth considering??

Very good price, Amazon's best offer in that range is Wifi + 8GB + Fifa for £232.

Motorstorm RC and Stuper Stardust can both be had for less than £15 in total and are both excellent games.

Full retail titles are going to be dependant on what you are interested in. Wipeout, Everybodys Golf, Rayman, Fifa etc are all great games.

I'll check them out :)

Wow. Why would people sell something so fast instead of just returning it to the shop

Another chunk from the Motorstorm RC review on eurogamer

If you play MotorStorm RC on PS3, however, you can enjoy split-screen racing for four players. Which brings us to MotorStorm RC's most remarkable feature. This is a true cross-play game, with one price covering both Vita and PS3 versions, no segregation of players on the leaderboards, and your progress saved to the cloud and transferred seamlessly between the two clients. The game is completely identical on the two systems, save a few additional graphical effects on the PS3 version.

It's witchcraft, frankly. This first taste of genuine cross-platform play between home and handheld makes it seem an extremely compelling proposition, and it's very exciting (even though I'm always going to prefer playing RC on Vita - it just seems more at home there). It might not be a vision of the future - you can play Portal on your laptop, after all - but it's certainly a lot more like the present than anything else the console manufacturers are offering.

Just heard that Uncharted: Golden Abyss is top of the retail charts this week in the UK.

PlayStation Vita launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss has claimed top spot in the new UK all-format charts.

Vita exclusive FIFA Football was second.

The two games accounted for 50 per cent of the total Vita software sold last week. There were 23 launch titles in total.

PlayStation Vita hardware sales data showed that 79 per cent of buyers chose the Vita's Wi-Fi version. Chart-Track does not publicly disclose sales figures.

EA shooter reboot Syndicate entered the chart in seventh, meanwhile, behind UFC3, FIFA 12, Rayman Origins and Mario & Sonic Olympics 2012.

Wii exclusive role-player The Last Story debuted in 15th place. The latest title from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi was not stocked at GAME or Gamestation in the UK.

But new Sega tactical shooter Binary Domain fared less well, landing 35th.

Other Vita games managing a place in the top 40 included WipEout 2048 (11th place), Ridge Racer (28th) and Everybody's Golf (32nd). And multi-platform game Rayman Origins shot up from 36th to 5th after the release of its Vita version.

Obviously digital sales are not counted at all here.

Currently backing up my 8GB card to my PC and will then transfer back on to the 32GB.

Good grief, Motorstorm RC is insanely addictive... As is Rayman. I'm enjoying Wipeout too, and based on the demo I think I'll be looking forward to Unit 13. Plus I've already pre-ordered MLB12:The Show.

I'm posting the PSN list again as due to a wait for my previous post to be moderated, I got left of subsequent updates... If anyone needs an easy (but improving!) target for Motorstorm times, friend me.

The 3G version of Sony’s PlayStation Vita was the most purchased model during the Japanese launch.

According to new figures revealed by Media Create (via Andriasang), the first three weeks saw more 3G than WiFi models sold in the region, with later sales still slightly ahead of the WiFi version.

It had been said following launch that the WiFi version had completely outsold the 3G version, with 85 per cent of Japan’s WiFi-only stock sold, compared to just 56 per cent of 3G’s, but these figures seem to show otherwise.

It’ll be interesting to see the split for U.S and Europe for both models, since the Vita went on sales in the West last week.

The Wi-Fi version of PS Vita was the most popular in launch week in the UK, accounting for 79 percent of all sales.

Data comes from UKIE, which states that the Wi-Fi version was by far the most popular.

As we reported this morning, in Japan it seems that the 3G version was most popular, so it looks like those in the UK has instead opted to save some cash and put it towards other items such as memory cards and games, with Uncharted Golden Abyss and FIFA Football being the main titles of choice.

Damn that's a good price. I don't suppose you can share your source, or is that an employee-only deal?

Can claim my VAT back at the moment, so it works out at 20% off :D

Go for it !

Just ordered the travel kit,

the case looks good, can carry the charger as well !

http://us.playstation.com/psvita/accessories/browse/psv-travel-pouch.html

Having a look at them just now. Thanks

Everybody's Golf, you wont regret it there is a whole thread on AV dedicated to this game, online is a blast, albeit a painful one when -4 only gets you 17th!!

I did read this was good :)

Everybody's Golf is awesome, but the online tourneys are flipping tough. I got -7 in one and that netted me position 200/1674!

I got the travel kit from Asda was 15 quid (think its official Sony one - had car charger, screen protector, wrist strap, the bag, cloth, hard case for games) - has that toilet bag for the Vita which does the job for me fine. Same kit I think was 25 quid at Game.
