My replacement 3G has arrived. Just backing up the memory card before I swap it over.

Set a few times and got a few trophies on Motorstorm so far this morning. Still a couple to go but I'm enjoying taking it bit by bit.

Also unlocked 4 secret cars this morning for scoring the goals/baskets.

What was wrong with your other vita?

Goals?

What was wrong with your other vita?

While playing Uncharted the other day the left most column of pixels on the screen went bright white and have been like it since. Nothing will budge them and they don't appear in screenshots. Amazon were great and just sent me a new one with a label to stick on the other one for Yodel to pick up.

And in the playground in Motorstorm there are two football goals and two basketball hoops. Put 10 balls through the net on football and get a car, and get another for 10 more, and put a car through a hoop 10 times to get a car and another 10 for another car.

In total, put 20 balls in the back of the goals and put your car through 20 hoops.

For the basketball one the quarter pipe is the easiest, just drive up the ramp slowly to line up, roll backwards and drive back up again.

Here you go...

Enjoy.

Aww dude now anyone can get that code lol

Don't forget to deauthorise your old one!

Yeah i will i did the back up of everything the other night, Once i take out my 8GB card from the old one should i deactivate it then or whilst the mem card unit is in it? Are they linked at all?

I've just found that you can just transfer the memory card over to the new one without having to copy everything over which is cool.

You can deactivate your old one with no card or sim in it, thats what I did. I only did it once I had the new one up and running properly though. Once deactivated just do a factory reset and it'll wipe everything form it.

Use this site https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/pc/login.action to see what devices you have activated. I named the first one "1st" before I authorised the second. Once the second was activated I had to log out and back in again on that site for it to update properly, and then again when I;d deactivated the old Vita.

Now mine is showing up as just having the one Vita assigned :)

Cheers, How come you had a second one? What was the issue with yours?

The very left most column of pixels on the screen went white and would never change. Had they just switched off I probably would never have noticed but being bright white it kind of stood out!

I hope they change the bubble things , I can't stand them

I really like the bubbles, I think they look pretty, imo Sony did a good job at making their OS stand out, but that being said I do know a few people that would have preferred it to be in a regular grid formation using icons but I would've found that boring, I definitely prefer the Vita os over the xmb, although I do miss having folders, hopefully that will come at a later date.

That is a handy site, especially if you have an old PS3 for example that needs deactivating, the only annoying thing is though that you can only deactivate all your devices at once rather than select only one.

If anyone here wishes to charge their Vita via USB ports and batteries there is a solution. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR HEAD FALLS OFF OR YOUR VITA EXPLODES.

I am extremely irritated at the USB charging limitations.

Especially since they seem trivial and arbitrary.

At least there are already mods surfacing:
http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/26419/PS+Vita+USB+Mod.html

And that guy didn't even really know what he was doing. But he got it to charge from a portable battery.

I hope 3rd parties make new Vita data/charge cables that remove this stupid limitation, as I'd like to use my Brunton Restore that I already own to recharge the Vita when I'm out of the country or away from wall outlets for extended trips.

EDIT - this solution is much better

USB CHARGING SUCCESS

For all those wanting to charge via USB while the system is on, I can confirm that this item from amazon.co.uk with the data pin modification as shown in the first quote will enable you to charge via USB.

The second option of this small adapter I cannot yet test as it has not arrived.

I have not yet soldered the two data pins together, I'll get one of the engineers at work to do that tomorrow. However for now I cut the Green and White wires (two central pins) and just tied them together to see if it works. Sure enough, in both standby and WHILE ON, the Vita is charging from my New Trent IMP 1000 11.1Ah battery.

Needless to say I am very happy with this solution as it means whenever I am out I'll ALWAYS have enough battery on me for 20+ hours without going near a mains socket. Plus that battery charges my phone and other devices.

I'll report back on the other adapter when it arrives, not expecting it before Monday though.
