***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

I really can't believe that backwards compatibility for PS1 games still hasn't been introduced, it was probably one of the main reasons I got the system.

I was actually thinking of selling mine as I just wasn't using it but I think instead of doing that I might pick up some of the games I skipped at release like Wipeout and Lumines, it's just a shame these games still seem to be pretty expensive to pick up.

Everyone is hoping for an announcements on PSone support TONIGHT! :P well tomorrow kinda as its SONY's E3 announcement I believe is at 2AM GMT.

The only thing is that announcement seems to be leaning toward cloud support which isn't really great for those of us who want to be playing games like FFVII on the go when we haven't got a wi-fi connection. :(

Yer I already posted a page or 2 back about how streaming will not be a good option at all for PSone support, I mean the VITA is a PORTABLE DEVICE!!!....... How does having to be linked to WIFI make it a portable device at all lol, means any train/car/plane actually any mobile gaming is out of the question.....

Would it not be best to actually wait for the announcements to happen before we get upset that they are not the right announcements.

XBLA shmup Sine Mora will be coming to the Vita soon.

Co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, Sine Mora is a dieselpunk shoot ‘em up that provides a unique take on the genre, where time is the ultimate factor. Mixing classic shooter sensibilities with next-gen presentation, Sine Mora defines itself as a gorgeous shmup that appeals to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Found on Xbox Live Arcade and coming soon to PlayStation®Vita, Sine Mora features over 60 combinations of planes, characters and time manipulation devices to complete every beautifully-crafted stage with scaling difficulty. All of this is set to an epic score of soaring heights composed by Akira Yamaoka (acclaimed for his works on Shadows of the Damned and the Silent Hill series) and with set pieces from boss battles designed by the legendary anime director Mahiro Maeda (Final Fantasy: Unlimited, The Animatrix segment “The Second Renaissance Parts I and II”, and the animation sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1).

Can anyone confirm the rumour that the vita's price is being slashed as much as 50 euros I. Europe and if there is gonna be a similar price cut for the uk? Might be tempted if they were a tad cheaper!

50 Euros in France, it seems to be one of the most floundering markets for Vita sales.

Testing up until July sometime by the sounds of it, if successful I can see them doing it in other countries/regions.

Thanks, I'll wait a bit then. Still have yet to see one for sale or anyone using them in Spain!

I'm thinking there are quite a few countries in this region that haven't really taken to it, could be the price could be the games who knows.

I think a worldwide price cut is inevitable, happened with the 3DS and sales picked up big time(They did however release Mario Kart etc), Sony will likely need to do the same.

Sony doesn't have anything big to drop as of yet though, Nintendo had Mario Land and Mario Kart and followed them pretty quickly with other quality games such as Resident Evil, Kid Icarus etc.

Yeah I understand that which is why I made the point of including Mario Kart in my post. They need to have some games that are decent to back it all up otherwise it could be another handheld failure for them.

Okay so PSOne classics coming to PSN for Vita, Black Ops: Declassified and AC III: Liberation is enough to keep me happy with the Vita. :D

Sony's conference was a massive disappointment as a Vita owner, they showed 1 logo, announced a port of a PS3 game, showed a short clip of Assassin's Creed and stated that PSOne classics would be coming in the summer, they should have been available at launch, it's pathetic that we still can't play PSOne classics on the console.

They spent such a small amount of time talking about Vita and yet they projected selling 10 million consoles, I honestly have no idea how they plan to do that.

Where's Nintendo are having an entire 1 hour show dedicated to the 3DS, that's with them also launching a new console this year.

The showing at E3 just confirmed to me that I did the right thing selling mine. A price drop is almost inevitable in the coming months and by that point I can see if there are any games out or coming very soon that will make it worth buying again.

Right now it certainly doesn't look like developers are rushing to help Sony out and in all honesty I don't expect to buy a Vita again unless I get a great deal on a second hand one in 6-12 months.

Disappointed with the Vita announcements or lake of them. People getting excited about PS1 classics which should have been there from the day one. There are being nothing new I wasn't expecting.

Looks like my Vita will end up in the drawn along with my PSP.......what a let down Sony.

plenty of stuff coming out to keep me occupied:

Speaking to thousands of press and observers at Sony's E3 press conference, PlayStation CEO and President Jack Tretton spoke fondly of the Vita's future. One major reason for his enthusiasm: 60 new games will arrive for the Vita in 2012, which the device sorely needs.

Those wanting more items to play might also find the upcoming availability of PlayStation 1 games for Vita appealing, including major hits like Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII. The PSP also played PSOne games, so nothing truly mesmerizing here.

Tretton also revealed that we should expect Hulu Plus and Crackle on the Vita "soon," and he couldn't seem to resist confirming that Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the Vita comes this "holiday season."

with the hardware and graphic capabilities of the vita am i the only one who would have thought PS2 compatibility would be possible? especially now they are releasing them on PSN

i can play ps1 games on my phone so i have no reason to purchase a Vita yet as much as i want too i cant justify the price.... not yet anyway.... don't get me wrong i want at-least 3 games for the vita but i can wait for now, i was hoping for a few more ps3/vita cross compatible games not spin-offs like AC and COD so i can continue my ps3 gaming on the go
