I must say I much prefer this forum for chatting about anything really including the Vita.
Added a few of you from the friends name list going around here on the Vita and havent had one rejection and looking forward to attempting to destroy your times in Wipeout and Motorstorm :p

a lot of the games have online leaderboards so with the 3g version these will be updated when your out. As well as being able to web browse etc.

You and your grandson should be very happy, enjoy :)

I just looked up the specs of this thing, 512MB of ram and and 128mb of vram

why arent portable gaming devices up to 2GB of ram yet? they really seem to be lacking behind, when you consider that the average PC has at least 3GB of ram. Hell the PS3 only has 256MB of ram, shouldn't it be competing with PC's?

*waits for the obvious RAM isn't everything replies*

Wouldn't the RAM only really help in videos, UI and web browser though?
 
The replies are obvious because they are right. Luckily the hardware manufacturers have more sense than you and they don't just throw pointless ram in there.

No need to get offensive, I was on a laptop the other day with 512MB of ram and the thing was unusable lol, seems like whacking a 7970 and a few GB's of RAM in the PS4 would be pretty nice though

In all fairness, more is always better when it comes to RAM. They only don't put more in because it would make the machine cost more.

What games is everyone playing on their vitas? I'm sooooo tempted to go into town now and buy one, but tbh none of the launch titles really stand out to me so it'd probably just end up as a quad core paper weight.

Games consoles are way more efficient then PCs. Try running a game with graphics as good as gt5 or uncharted 3 on a pc with similar specs to a ps3, you'd be lucky to get 5fps. The ps vita is more than powerful enough for it's purpose, and putting a 7970 and 4gb of ram in the ps4 would be ridiculously overkill (and would probably bankrupt sony :p).

I have also added everyone on the list and found it easier to go into others friends list and add the familiar names from there.

Game are apparently giving £30 trade in value on Fifa, so if you are getting a new Vita you can get the Amazon bundle then trade in at game and get a different game if you want.
