You have the right to return it regardless. If they then won't sell you a 3G one tere are plnty of places that will.
Well some might say I was a little hyped before the launch (looks at 4000 word OP) so I'm probably biased but if you want one
I'm very pleased with it. The hardware itself is as everyone has already said in every review and comment. The screen is beautiful, the touch screens are responsive, the analogues are great, the OS has more features than the PS3 and is smooth and fast, etc etc.
The Only real question for most people seems to be the games, and with those I'm very happy also and I've only actually played Motorstorm RC & Uncharted for any length of time. I'm looking forward to playing more of both as well as Wipeout, Rayman, Lumines, Stardust and Escape Plan.
The wife has been playing some Escape Plan this evening and was really enjoying it.
That's part of what I like about it as a console in general. It's not just trying to have console games on a handheld, it's got a load of smaller cheaper games that still benefit from the power and the controls available. Some of these are games that could probably come out on tablets and phones but with no buttons the experience would feel hollow.
So yeah, I like it
And every game on the console is available for less and has been since before it launched...
Plus, there are a range of price points, it's not like the PS3 where games are either full price or Platinum price.
I get the memory card issue but for me, over the life of the system it's inconsequential. Owning a memory card allows me to play Stardust, Motorstorm, Escape Plan and all the other Digital only games. Even with just 8GB in there I have too much to play and space left. Larger cards are just nice if you never or rarely want to move data around.
I have the Motorstorm RC Demo downloaded.
Can I pay to unlock the full version or do I have to download the entire full version once paid?
Tried the key and the padlock Items on the demo start screen which took me to PSN but it just said 'no content items'

I got to the start of Chapter 5 on Uncharted today. Really enjoying it. The motion aiming took a little while to get used to, as soon as I turned the sensitivity to max it was much easier to use.

I also took the liberty of adding games - may become unmanageable in the long term but hopefully will work for now.

There definitely won't be a 4G model until enough of the target audience can use a 4g model. I very much doubt one will come in as an addition to the 3G as making 3 different SKUs will cost more.
At the moment 4G is available in patches of the US, not in the UK at all and I have no idea about the ROTW.
I'd guess at a minimum of 2 years personally.
Lessons learned this morning. Motion aiming on Uncharted is more difficult when standing up on a moving train. My reticule was all over the place as the train was swaying lol.
Also picked up a second sound track on Stardust through a pickup in Near.
Playing Uncharted demo, when I got to the part where I have to do some sniping, the controls seemed really fiddly. Am I doing something wrong here? (Using the analogue sticks) seems to take an age to aim correctly, or is this just my crappy gaming skills
Sniping is by default done with the motion controls as you can fine tune it a little easier then just using the sticks. I couldn't get the hang of it until I turned the sensitivity up to max.
You can set it to only use the sticks though.
Really enjoying it so far.
Download limit? That's an odd one. Are you downloading over 3g? How are you downloading the patch? Is your memory card full?

I love mine, being able to play Uncharted on the train this morning was great and I can't get that anywhere else.
I also spent a couple of hours playing it last night while the wife was watching crappy TV. Previously I would have gone upstairs into another room and so we spent less time in the same room. Even though I had my headphones in we were still there together rather than in seperate parts of the house.
For those hours having buttons and the experiences I got the on Vita were great. I have never gotten that from a smartphone game.
It's all dependant on lots of things.
The thing I like more than anything is that the games are not JUST console games on a portable. That's nice, but I like other options. Motorstorm RC, Escape Plan, Stardust, are all great games that excel on a portable. That I can also play more console like experiences is a bonus.
What I hope is that more games follow that of MLB12 (Out at the start of march) in that you can transfer your save from your PS3 to your Vita. That kind of options for games like Assassins Creed or GTA5 or something would be fantastic if it were to happen.
I love mine, and I think most here love their too. But then we don;t have 30k on our credit cards that we are paying off at the minimum
Then add Motorstorm RC and Stardust to your shopping list (only available on the PSN). The best £15 you will spend.
Not in this version. They are going to try and get more of the cross platform options into 13.
Don't discount amazon play and shopto. Some excellent deals to be had

Sorry I;ve not gotten back faster I've beena bit busy. That looks like it should work, is the file format MP4?
One programme that is perfect for that is Handbrake. It'll alo you to rip anything and any resolution to MP4 or MKV.

The only settings you need are MP4 as the file format, Large File Size ticked, set Anamoprhic to none and then set the resolution to 960x544. The Vita will play anything upto 128x720 but since it's native resolution is only 960x544 anything larger is just a waste of storage space.
Leave constant quality at RF 20. That should just about do it.
I'll try and get a few images u tonight to help anyone out.

Can you keep the PSVita downloading even when it goes into standby? Or do I have to be on the system (keeping it active) whilst it downloads??
If YOU out the system into standby (tap the power button) then downloads will stop. If it goes into standby on it's own they will not.

It is the fastest selling console in the UK ever. It sol over 70 million units world wide.
If the Vita is only that successful I'll be more than happy. Some incredible games came out on the PSP and it was a pain in the ass to develop for. The Vita on the other hand is not.

I've not had anything like that, what kind of file were you converting? All mine have been 720 MKVs to 544 MP4s
Have you set anamorphic to none? you can't change the resolution until you do that. Also Handbrake my not upscale things. I've never tried! If not the Vita should still play the file fine at whatever resolution you set it at.
There was one a few pages back for a WiFi, 8GB and Fifa for £230 or something. 'll try and find it

That demo also has co-op I think
The full game has co-op and leader boards like Motorstorm for fastest time to clear the room, points, etc. Still not had a chance to play it!

ispgeeks.com gave me 1.17Mbps or 150KB/s on a H signal with 2 bars. I'll try another one with better signal later.
If anyone wants to test you cant use speedtest.net as the Vita has no flash.
What a shame.It's hardly difficult for them to get it certified and hack the media player a bit. Well a group of hackers will do it I guess. MUCH to Sony's dismay of course.
It's still disappointing that none of the consoles nativley play MKV however I can understand why to a degree.
It'll be interesting to see hat happens. Hotz won't do it as he is under court order so who knows. Sony i think know how important piracy was to the PSPs software sales so will hopefully have made it as secure as the PS3 was (apart from the silly mistake with the random number generator being fixed lol)

Register at that site, you should get a code through which you punch in to the site which will register the device. then the code should coem through.
It's been a lot more hassle getting these sorted than it should have been and it looks like it's entirely Vodafones balls ups.
You just need to buy the game, the network pass is only if you buy a used version of the game.
And yes, its beautiful, plenty of tracks and races, cross platform multiplayer with PS3 players of Wipeout HD+Fury, and if you already own those games you'll also get those tracks for free as DLC on 2048 in a few months.
How did you top up before? Has it sent you a code to the vita to register the device?

That's what mine says after I topped up a fiver over the phone using my debit card so I guess you did a fiver tooConfused about how the data works though?! So if i play a game of Fifa over 3G it will use the data up and the same for browsing the net?
If you have topped up and not got a code then call customer service.
You cannot play online head to head games over 3g. WiFi only. 3g pints are not stable enough to handle it for the majority.
