PlayStation VR / VR2

Turns out my email came through on the 2nd of November and I totally missed it. The time on it was 10am and I just went in and ordered no prblem at 11.40am.

Picked up the Horizon bundle so all good.

Looking forward to making myself feel sick in the living room again. :D

I registered a while back but not had any emails for pre order at all :(

From the Sony website:

“If you are selected, we will contact you via email with the date, time and instructions for your opportunity to pre-order a PS VR2. Registering does not guarantee that you will receive an invite.”

Got the Horizon bundle as well. Has it actually sold out anywhere or is stock still readily available?

I know most electronics are in short supply but I'm not convinced launch day demand for PSVR 2 is going to be particularly high. Especially given the lack of any "killer" launch titles like Gran Turismo/etc. If anything the luanch line-up is my biggest gripe about the system at the moment. Annoyingly the title I was most excited about (Firewall Ultra) still isn't confirmed as a lauch day release! Horizon looks good but I'm not sure it will hold my attention for that long being a relatively short single player campaign. No Man's Sky looks like it should be fun to try out in VR and I'm temped by Walking Dead: Chapter 2 though I already have the first chapter on Meta Quest.

More woryingly none of my gaming friends, most whom have PS5's, are intererested in PSVR2. Some of them bought the original PSVR and most said they never played it much after the first month or two!

I'm sold on VR and happy to jump onboard day one but I'm concerned as to what kind of attach rate the new headset will garner. At the end of the day it's a ~£550 add-on for a £500 console which you still can't readily purchase two years after release! I can see a lot of more casual folk baulking at the cost if they aren't VR devotees like most of us on this thread! Having said that I'm glad Sony went all out with the cutting edge VR systems/specs and didn't scrimp like they did with the first PSVR by trying to re-use dated tech like Move controllers and cameras.

I've ordered one, though I'm not convinced it will be a worthwhile purchase. I don't really know if I'd even enjoy VR gaming as I've never tried it. Quite shocked it costs more than the console too

I haven't placed an order, but will keep an eye on developments. For me, there just aren't any "killer apps" lined up for the launch date that make this a compelling buy, and I suspect many people will feel similar. On the other hand, the technical specifications for this latest model versus previous generations of VR headsets is like night and day. I don't think the asking price for the hardware is actually unreasonable - the lack of apps is the kicker.

Wonder if the cinema/big picture mode will be out at launch. It was one of the features i was looking forward to most on the original PSVR and it took a long time for it to become available.

Sod it.. pre ordered. I was looking at a Pico4 or Quest2 so i hope i made the right decision. My only experience of VR has been PSVR which i reallly liked especially Astrobot,Tetris effect and REZ.
Time to start saving more pennies then
