Please call us for a quote....

Not got it yet, will be buying this or next weekend so much like yourself i will have a week of limited use to change my driving style, its going to be a second car anyways so i will be using it even less than you use yours.

If i have it in time it will indeed be coming to the meet, lower the french numbers anyways :)

I guess you did pass plus Andy? If DL don't recognise your pass plus as one years NCB then I guess theres not a lot you can do. I wouldn't try to say you have had your license longer than you really have. It could cause big problems.

I'd stick with Elephant if I were you. I'm with Admiral myself.

Yep Andy, I've done PP.

I'm pretty sure I'll get a decent quote off NUD if I ring up. Just had a quote on their website with me being 21 with 3 years NCB... £789 :D

I found a massive difference fromt he 214 to the 220, the drive home from where i bought it left me with a grin, after driving a 214 and going to a 220 gsi it is a MUCH better car, ive never driven a standard suspension GSi but mine handles awesome, a lot better than that coupe i had anyways! If you after a car which doesnt require you to produce money from your rear end, the GSI is for you. A turbo is £2k to insure and i managed to go thru a full tank of fuel in a day.. Horrific on fuel when booting it :(

Cheers for that Andy, just what I wanted to hear :)

I know Simon was trying to help, but for the moment (and no doubt the next year or so) the GSi will be plenty fast for me... hell, the 214 can still bring a smile to my face.

It's going to be awesome to have the power there when needed. What's that... need to overtake a car uphill, not a problem

The 214 was quick enough on the straights, but the 220 is going to feel like a rocket in comparison.

Its definately a better car, the difference in a straight line wont be as big as you expect though :)
To be fair though you do drive a beast of a car. If hes happy then thats all that matters.

Even if it is a slow car.

Me and my bro used to have a 220Gti and going from an AX GT it wasnt much faster. Indeed it turned out to be not much quicker than the 214s at Rover meets :(

Always good to expect not much, then all you can get is a surprise. :p

Wooo, cheapest quote I've had so far is £1229 :)

That's from Elephant, 2 years NCB, mum and step dad on the policy.

I'll be buying on Friday morning. Will I be ok to pick the car up Friday night?

yea of course :) Policies are valid from when you buy them, regardless of if the docs have come through yet :)) Lookin forward to her?

Tom.

Ah cool, cheers Tom :) Just wasn't sure if it might take a day or two the computers to set the policy up.

Now just have to ring them up to sort out a monthly/quarterly payment plan.

Can't wait until I get the car, althouh I kinda wish I'd have waited. Can't really afford to get it if I'm not sure if mine will sell straight away (as I owe my bank £180 - stupid charges  ) but ah well, you only live once.

Also sorted out myself a set of alloys... hopefully pick those up shortly after I get paid in April.

what are you doing with the alloys off the GSi?

No idea mate.

They're in quite good condition with good tyres. Not much curbing. I won't be able to keep them as my mums' fiancee will throw a wobbler.

Probably sell them on the bay for £50 or something.

what alloys are they again?

The ones on the GSi? They're the same ones on the SEi :) Standard Rover 7 spokes.

The ones I'm getting are Mille Miglia somethings...

Nope, not at all. You renewal letter will simply say 1 years no claims, which you can then use anywhere.

Mine didn't, it said 10 months discount.

I'm sorting mine anyway, I spoke to a rep who confirmed with me that once i make this month's payment, i'll have a full year's no claims.
