Please call us for a quote....

I found a lot of places wouldn't quote me online for my VTI, I think I pay a bit because I'm only getting my first year's NCB in May and I have an SP50.

Agw, go for it with the Rover turbo..potent car for the money :D

Ahhhh, interesting hopefully he will get more joy with this one, current car (Jokes aside) seems to have caused him quite a few problems.

Well it got me to Leeds and back without a hitch today. In fact, I had a really good blast in it. The M62 is a good blast.

For all you wondering what car I'm getting... it's not a turbo no, that would be just madness.

It's a 220 GSi :) For the price, it's a pretty good buy. New thread on its way.

To be honest a 220 isn't much quicker than a 214. The engine is a lot heavier so it doesn't handle so well. Save for longer and get the turbo

You've gotta be joking me Si?

0-60 of the 220 is what, 8 seconds? Not to mention the mahoosive increase in torque. I went to Leeds today and had to hammer it up hills in 3rd and 4th gear to even maintain my speed.

And I'm sure you've seen the quotes I've been getting for the 220. The Turbo is just WAYYYYYY out of the question at the moment.

And surely the turbo handles worse than the 220? Anyway, I've got these 50mm springs that I'm saving for it :)

I'd love a 420. That's the one car that would truly make me happy :D

Still, the words 'Turbo' and 'Sport' aren't going to do my insurance any favours.

I had my MR2 Turbo when I was 20 and that was with 0 no claims as they was on my other car.

You must live in a odd area that insuance companies dont like or something.

My mate has a modified one, i know it has an LSD now and he says about 260-270bhp. The looks you get off people when you beat them off the line. :D

You haven't driven a 220gsi so don't try and convince yourself. Honestly the 220 is nothing special.

Why on earth would a 220 handle better than the turbo? It doesn't have a Torsen diff, the rest of the car is the same really.

How much is the turbo quote? about £500 more than the nasp? £500 is what you would spend on an exhaust and filter to try any make your nasp faster once your bored of it

Well, you were talking about more weight at the front so worse handling... the GSi-T has a turbo, intercooler and piping to carry around.

I've got no idea how much it'd be for a turbo. I had quotes a while ago for £1300 but for some reason they won't touch me now.

So you're honestly saying that if you could swap your 214 for a 220 NASP you wouldn't go for it?

Oh no that extra 7kg is really going to make a difference :p

I would drive a 220 if I was you, completely different engine to the rev happy 1.4k series.

I was going to buy a 220Gsi after my 216 Coupe - I decided to keep the Coupe as it wasn't any slower and the interior didnt mind (beige :eww:).

Si, when you say 220, do you mean NASP or Turbo?

Trust me, I'd still love the Turbo and when I do get to drive one I'll be gutted I didn't save up. But I'm not prepared to get raped by the insurance and repair bills just to own one. I just can't afford it at the moment.

I would have thought that you would be at least a little bit happy that I'd decided not to blow all my money on a 1.4 and get a good base car like the 220.

You should know better - nothing you do on here will please anyone :D

Hmmm, right, I've been finding it pretty easy to get quotes of under £1400 for the GSi, so that had me thinking...

NUD might be saying to call them just based on the fact that it's a group 13 car. Their quote might not be that expensive, especially as how they were quoting me £775 for the 214. I reckon it would be around £1200 for the new car.

I guess the only way to find out is to ring them :)

NUD was more expensive for me, Elephant is probably your best bet. I went for the full 12 months as it made it a fair bit cheaper than the 10 month policy over the full year. The bonus accelerator seems to be a bit of a farce to me.
