I didn't actually want 5 but when you have twins when you have 3 not a lot you can do. At least I have 1 out of 5 chances my bum might be wiped for me lol

The government as been demonising people having kids for decades.

The brightest in society i.e. those who listen, slowed down having kids or none at all.

Society needs more kids, and it needs to start encouraging it with a parents benefit.

I think there also needs to be more help by the state in bringing up those kids i.e. investing in sports clubs, computer classes, bring back the cubs/scouts and the girl guides. Make society more kid friendly again.

Well gentlemen I have recently found out that I will be contributing to the decline of humanity. :)

12 weeks old with a due date of the 4th May.

These clubs still exist? See the cubs and scouts in the local village all the time. My friends kids go too. I also have kids from clubs in work all the time to go through stem stuff/whatever.

There was a huge decline in youth services as part of austerity. It doesn't impact quaint villages such as yours or mine, but has been a massive problem in cities.

Can't speak for the others, but the Scouts is a charity and run by volunteers, nothing to do with government spending.

Very much alive and kicking, although a big problem these days is lack of volunteers because parents don't have the time (or can't be bothered/don't believe in doing anything for free)

Saying that, there are at least 4 groups I know of within a 3 mile radius, and apparently 101 groups in the Birmingham area ;)

I do agree though, we need more kid friendly services - the only problem being it comes back round to the whole "decent parents" thing. The ones who come to our group are the ones with parents who already give a ****, so they do plenty of extra-curricular activities anyway. The ones with crap parents whose kids would benefit the most, the parents aren't interested/don't care/can't be bothered to bring them :(

My wife and I were very late having a child because we needed to get our own situation sorted first (house, decent job, reasonable salaries).
We were 38 and 40 because it took that long to get stability in our lives with the ever increasing costs of everything.
We'd have loved to have more than 1 but with nursery costs at over £1400 per month around here and the requirement for another bedroom it just wasn't financially viable.
We're now 46 and 48 so it's too late for more.

You didn't need to do that. You could have just been dole bums and relied on the state! Silly Billy!

Everyone is the same. We had our first at 21 and our second at 33. Would have loved to have had them closer and the second earlier but financially and mentally it would have been impossible.

World is over-populated and not sustainable. The economy might need more kids, but the planet needs less if it is to survive in any way to support human life well into the future
Yes

In 2050 you will certainly be a minority if you're white, or at least it's going to start to feel that way.

So you will just give it all back to the government when you end up in a care home because you have no kids to look after you in old age. :D Materialistic items are worthless in the grand scheme of things. Children from your own loins are priceless but that is just me.

You think your kids are going to look after you in old age put aside their own lives and interests just to look after you?! I've got news for you they'll arrange your care home and thats about it.
