Hi guys,

Im thinking of leaving Sky broadband and going with Plusnet Fiber. Is there any decent website that can estimate my speed i would be looking at?

Another question, I currently had broadband phone and TV with sky but its getting too expensive at 70 quid a month so I've cancelled the TV leaving only broadband/phone

Ive just ordered fibre with plus net, do I need to phone sky and cancel the broadband/phone to or just get a Mac code and leave the rest to plus net.

Don't want to be paying for both sky and plus net, if that's even possible lol!

Get a mac off sky just to be sure, as long as your not in contract you will not be charged I think.

out of personal exp id call once you go live with a new company to make sure that the old provider has closed down your account as ive had issues where they haven't in the past

I have done the same as in cancel sky and go to plusnet.

After speaking to sky and plusnet I have been informed by both of them that I won't need a mac code and it should all go through smoothly.

I was on sky llu btw.

Plusnet said I should contact sky out of courtesy.

Yes been looking at the humax 1000s seems expensive at 250 tho!

My plan is freesat with a decent box and fibre to stream/download!

Sky are a rip off with poor cs :mad:

I have one of those humax freesat+ boxes very nice recorders, one off price for the box thats it, and i'm on PN fibre.
Sky is way over priced, never been with, never will.

Yes I agree as I cancel my sky tv as it ripped off. They even asked me to stay on with 12 months half price skyworld and 12 months half price HD. But, I told them I only take it if you willing to give me 12 months skyworld and HD for free of charge! They just hung up. LOL

Ordered my plusnet on 18th march unlimited fibre and phone..

Install phone date 29/4/13 surely that's not normal is it? Not happy with that amount of waiting!

What are your thoughts ?

Seems a bit much when their site says 2-3 weeks, contact them via forums, they seem very active on there.

I ordered my FFTC connection and phone line on the 18th and the broadband connection was done today (25th) when the Openreach engineer called. I moved from BE.
The phone line, I am told, will be activated two weeks or so after the broadband is up and running.
Up to now everything has gone well, with constant updates from PlusNet by SMS and emails etc on the status and progress of my order.
I do like their presence in the user forums and that they have a UK based call centre.

I am currently with BT for the landline (dont really use it) and BE for Broadband (no contract, £22 a month)

Does anyone know if you can get a static IP on the plusnet unlimited home fibre package?
