Pokemon GO! (2016)

Will be done if I get banned, fun while it lasted tho. :D

I'm only level 20 but as my kids like to play and they are only 5 & 7 i used fake GPs app with pokemon joystick mode, as of yet I still have not been banned.

it has given what they say it soft bans where Poke stops wont give you anything or Pokemon will run away first ball, but it felt more like i was logging in to early for the GPS to update.

If/when i do get banned I'll be glad tbh as it's killing my phone, the heat it produces could warm a small country and now I'm having issues with the phone freezing up every few seconds.

I set it up on the PC for my nephew to play since he's 10 so doesn't have a data plan and you can't see a single pokestop from his house :(.

One of the reasons I prefer playing it on the PC myself is because of what you say about the phone dying, it crashes so often on my phone, runs much better on the PC :p.

Got really frustrated last night, as I went out after dinner with my bro to take a few gyms. In between GPS being all over the place, and being kicjed out of battles back to the lobby, I only managed to place one pokemon out of 5 gyms. Really annoying.

Placed 2 this morning and caught two new ones today, but currently out of ball or potions. Actually spent some money buying some. Getting tedious now.

Out for the day in Glasgow today. When I went for lunch I put down a lure that was right next to the restaurant, but got really disappointing spawns, even though there were several good pokemon on the sightings list. After lunch I went down to the Clyde, where there's a really good spot for catching.

Was so many people there playing, even more off to the sides in that picture. I was there for nearly 3 hours and all 3 pokestops were constantly lured. Water pokemon spawned like mad. So many magikarp, poligwags, shelders, goldeens, psyducks, staryus. Even got a few dratinis, a few poliwhirls, a very low level Wartortle.

And got these two practically back to back. Both new additons to the pokedex. And I also got a couple more new ones, a 757CP Fearow and a 785 Weepinbell. And I evolved a Staryu into a 1080CP Starmie.

I got so much exp! I went from the start of level 18 to level 20! Finally got ultra balls! :D

Man im so impressed today, the game has been so stable, ive been playing 4 hours stright and no one single hiccup, managed to go from level 16 to 18, caught about 115 pokemon, stocked up on candies and all sorts.

Did something get fixed that wasnt mentioned?

I tried to set it up for the kid's on their own tablets but because they only run android 4.4.1 it wont work.

Thought i had been banned earlier loaded the game and all the pokemon were black boxes, even the near bye one's, closed the app and reloaded and it was all ok.

It only needs 4.4 doesn't it? I'm on 4.4.2 on Nox I think.

I believe there's a way to modify the apk to get it to run on earlier Android versions.

On Nox all the Staryus are just black stars :D.

Edit: if you mean you can't install it from the Play store then you can just download it from apkmirror.com or copy the apk from your phone.

A huge reduction in the number of players helps a lot.

I'm level 21 and have been saving my evolves until now. How important is an IV rather than just looking at CP? It would take hours to stick them all into the calc but it seems an ok method is to just look at their first power up stardust requirement? My 133 Magikarp is 87% whereas the first one which has a lower power dust requirement is 123 and 93%.

Is the IV just indicative of potential? As powering up requires candy and stardust I'm guessing you have to draw the line somewhere, as a 10 CP Magikarp whilst might have more potential would take some much candy to get there?

Where in Glasgow was that?

I tend to check IVs before evolving stuff, but I'm not sure its really worth it, I mean how many are you going to power up to the max, maybe just worry about it for those you are likely to power up lots. Also the IVs could be great but you could still end up with rubbish moves after evolving.

Any yeah I wouldn't bother with something that has a low CP just because it has great IVs as you'll need loads of dust to power it up. Maybe the 123 magicarp over the 133 if its better, but certainly not the 10 CP magikarp.

Ta. So would you agree as a general rule of thumb the highest CP with the 2nd highest initial power up cost, if that make sense? With a quick glance at HP to make sure it's not dire.

Yes, the IV's are obviously calculated from the CP, Health and Dust level so as a rough rull of thumb you can work out which has better IV's. Pretty easy way to cut through a lot of the junk you catch. Then just check the IV's for any you plan on evolving or want to power up.

Ta. After all my Magikarp examples I hatched quite a baller; 140/31/2500. The calc suggests a max of 97.8% perfect which is pretty decent!

I travel a lot with work and they really do vary country to country, place to place. Currently in Prague and so many Magikarps about, even though Bristol is also on the water.

In Norway in two days, I wonder if it'll be full of Jynxs!

I was up mount Vesuvius just as Pokemon came out but I didn't have roaming data. Gutted as I bet/hope Charizard was at the top!
