Pokemon GO! (2016)

While the game is kinda fun it's totally grindy. I wish it was moee like real pokemon and you could battle or catch wild Pokemon and get xp that way. And that evolution candies weren't pokemon specific - but then niantic wouldn't be able to sell you so many pokeballs and make $$$

Is there a particularly safe source for the APK? I've only ever used the play store as I figure it's safer and read an article about malware infected versions. Maybe being too cautious but as I've never done it I'm not sure where I should get the APK from to ensure its safe.

Went for a pokestroll with the missus last night.

3 hours later we got home :D

Ran around trying to find a Slowpoke on 2% battery, and shut down literally 10 seconds after catching him. Phew!

Also had repeated gym battles with some purple dude in the park, haha.

Hate my gf though, she started yesterday, and pikachu by running away from the other starters. Hatches her first egg... ANOTHER bloody pikachu!

And this:

You can actually download Pokemon Go in the UK here:

http://ios.hipstore.mobi/app/Pokemon-GO/1000007852

Once downloaded and installed go to Settings > General and then there should be a new thing that says either "Profiles & Device Management", which you need to go into, or "Yestech Technology Joint Stock Company....blah blah blah". Just click on either of these and trust the app, and there you go - Pokemon Go on iOS in the UK, without all the trickery.

What is the rarest/coolest Pokemon anyone has caught yet?

I've been playing for days and nothing but Magikarp, Weedle, Pidgey etc. I caught a Pidgeotto yesterday and thought that was alright and then in Tesco a Pedgeot with 195CP appeared and I took 9 balls to catch it! :D

I gave my phone to my girlfriend to have a look as she's done nothing but insult me for playing it.... 10mins later she has levelled me up and caught an Abra who I've been desperate to catch! No idea how she does it but now she thinks she is pro at this game.

APKPURE.com (Believe this is not classed as piracy but please feel free to remove if it is)

Battery is killer! My battery was bad anyway and this game has pushed me over the edge and now I've ordered one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Compact-20000mAh-Portable-Anker-PowerCore-Black/dp/B00VJSGT2A

For battery I turn on power saver, plug in headphones and leave the phone in my pocket, the screen turns off which is great and it makes sounds to let you know if there is a pokemon or pokestop near.

Is it worth maxing CP before evolving or does it make no difference other than the 'start point' for newly evolved (e.g. is the max still the same)

The stardust cost to CP ratio does improve the higher your trainer level, but it is unknown if the end result is actually better than a naturally high CP pokemon.

So a rattata with 100CP might be at 70% on the CP bell curve when you are trainer level 5, and cost xyz stardust to improve.

A rattata with 100CP might be at 20% on the curve when you are trainer level 20, so the stardust cost is much cheaper, to improve by the same amount of CP. Where your CP is on the curve determines how much stardust it costs to improve, and as you level as a trainer, you max CP improves, changing the position of any given CP rating on the curve.

As it stands, most advise to not use powering up until you have a fully evolved pokemon with the attacks that you want, as powering up before final evolution might land you with naff attacks when you finally do, wasting your stardust.

Currently half way to level 9 and got 16 evolutions awaiting my lucky egg

Once It releases in England im gonna spend a few quid to catch up to all my buddies. So far I've had more fun and time invested in this game than any game in a very long time so I'm happy to spend some money and support niantic. :D

And let's face it 25 incense for 1250 coins is a steal
