Pokemon GO! (2016)

Addictive AF.

For now. But even though I'm enjoying it for the moment, I can see this game having a fairly short life span. People will tire of it sooner or later, unless they do some major developments on the gameplay and add more stuff to do.

It'll be amusing while it lasts though.

I wish you could see other players on the map live and battle them. Also not a huge fan of the battle system they have. I'd like to see something more like the one in the main series games but have an Active Time Battle system to speed things up and prevent people trolling by not attacking.

Don't wander into unlit areas.. I just thought I'd pop through my local park on my way home from the pub as there's 2 Pokestop s there.. must be some bad WEEDles in the area *quickly runs away*

Addictive AF.

Sick of not having any decent pokemon near me at all though, travel around 200-400 miles a day and same old Pidgey and Rattata everywhere.

Same. Constant Zubats at work. Zubats everywhere!

People keep asking me why its so good, and I keep telling them its not. Its actually a really crap game with zero skill and very little game play. It's literally just about catching Pokemon.

It always comes down to content. Nintendo have enough resources to produce it, lets hope they do.

I hope they make some high level content.

At the moment it is simply a case of getting higher CP pokemon.

Hopefully there will be very rare pokemon. Very rare abilities. Tournaments and other special events.

Also introducing 1 v 1 open match ups will also be good.

Problem could be it actually has nothing to do with Nintendo so niantic (spelling ) have to try keep it rolling with good updates etc

They have made little to no changes to the core mechanics of Ingress over the years.

I've no confidence much is going to change in Pokemon Go. Changing the battle mechanics would be a fundamental shift in how the game works. Plus, its already a massive success, why would they bother putting effort into improving it?

Exactly, I read the other day it's already the most downloaded mobile game ever (in the USA). They'll just trickle content in there, and keep everyone interested.

It's mostly just sheep anyway, trying to act 'geek' because that's cool these days. But if it keeps Nintendo in business, I'm one very happy man.

Yeah the most anying thing is not buying Nintendo shares ;):p

I wonder if this will be the turning point where Nintendo realise the value in the company is the IP it owns. Nintendo consoles have been meh for a while, whereas there could be lots of success from making Zelda, Mario, Pokemon etc games for other platforms.

A, Dratini appeared on my footsteps list, "I'll have some of that!" I thought so I slipped into my slides and went hunting for it. I couldn't find it but while hunting for it I saw the postman, what a brilliant job to have for Pokemon Go, and yet the lunatic wasn't playing.

Grr.. Difficult to find any gyms or pokestops when you live in the country. But I did nab 2 pokemons outside the village shop!! Neighbour aslked if I was alright, but told white lie about checking my gps for long walks... blah, blah. I mean, how can a 44 year old Dad explain to a 93 year old what a pokemon is?

Hah, that's exactly what I though when I was walking down the road this morning and saw our postman.

My usual Saturday morning walk to the shops took an hour this week, its usually 5 minutes each way...

It's Ingress with a Pokemon skin. Ingress never got any better than Pokemon in it's current form. I doubt Pokemon will.

I was out with a group of 5-6 people last night until about midnight just walking around from stop to stop. Crazy how many lures were being popped.

Level 12 now and still have two lucky eggs with about 20 Pokemon ready to be evolved

I hope they continue to develop this game as it could be quite special. They have already alluded to upcoming improvements in Pokestop interaction and the ability to trade, as well as support for future AR devices.

Then if only they could change battling just enough to involve some level of skill and include it as a precursor to catching other Pokemon easier, it would be much better.

Of course they will develop it. The game is now worth billions to its owners.

They won't have difficulty getting investment to improve it.

I am not really getting out much currently but the other day myself and the wife took baby to playgroup. Literally round the corner is a pokestop at a Scout hut. We walk past it anyway so I said slow down a bit. Spun it got balls and an egg. We crossed the road and I saw another chap, backpack on looked geekish lol, he slowed right down with a smile on his face as he approached the pokestop. I had a quick glance over my shoulder and saw him looking at his phone. And off he went. Happy chappie I think:)

Same day we went to the local park which has 2 gyms and 6-9 pokestops dotted around. In total I think I saw one group of 3, group of 2 another 2 or 3 groups of 3 and a few singles all searching for pokemon. Yeah they could have been just on facebook or something but I very much doubt it really. You can just tell from them looking up and walking in a totally different direction.

Basic game until updates and content is added but it gets people out. Socialising with randoms they would never have done before. You can walk for miles without realising and it helps keep you fit. I am tempted to fix my phone to my bike handlebars and go out on it to be honest.

Just watched a video on facebook of central park last night I think. Thousand plus people flocking en-masse to the park after a very rare pokemon as I can gather.

Amazing.
