Poker

just to let u know that there are hacks out there for online poker. some players have hacks that allow them to see the cards of other players who have the same hack installed. they then work as a team and clean up.

also some hacks have been developed that can possibly show what other cards players have. just giving u a heads up cos i have seen proof.

Just like to say I find that VERY difficult to belive. I've played over 100k of hands online all over the net etc. Only once had I suspected colluision on poker stars. they sorted it out very promptly.

I used to play quite high limit stakes poker ~ 3-6 $ tables wherever the bonuses took me ;)

But had to draw it all out about 4 months ago.

Started with a fiver drew out 4k~. Thought i'd leave a winner seena s only about 15% of online poker players actually make a profit in the long run.

I just stick to small $5 SNG over at pacifc now.

I'll keep an eye on this thread and if theres a game going when i'm i n i'll be there.

Anyone starting out at limit poker buy Small stakes holdem by sklansky (spelling  ) Basically the bible of small stakes limit poker

I've stopped playing online because I just couldn't get into it, I got bored very quickly and I wasn't prepared to put in the time to make money.

There's around 25 of us that play every Friday, its £20 buy in and I've not moneyed in a while so I'm close to making a loss over all. I'm usually happy if I make the final table though.

I'd probably benefit from reading a book or two, I can be pretty reckless.

Can I play agaisnt you then :p

Well I said I hadn't won at local pub in a while, I put that right tonight ;)

Great day both live and online today, ~£200 up :)

I play Texas Hold 'em regularly with friends. I've never played online before, and don't intend to as it's more about fun for me. I do seem to be making a bit of profit out of it though, as although we all started off in our games as complete newcomers to this style of poker, I seem to be eclipsing them a bit. Probably something to do with me not being a drinker and paying more attention to peoples' reactions. ;)

Last time five of us played, and we only put in £15 each for a pot of £75. I ended up with £41.20. :D

I've not moved onto playing for money yet, though i've been playing for play money and at a mates house for about a year.

I only want to spend about $20 a week (and add $20 the next week if i don't lose it). I don't even know where to start.
I'm looking for somewhere i can play cheap sit and go's ($2 ish) to start and build a bank roll. $6 at Partypoker is too much for a beginner to pay for an STT imo. That should let me build a bank roll, play the odd MTT, and move onto micro stakes NL Hold'em cash games after a while.

I also quite fancy learning how to play 7 card stud (and hi-lo), PL Omaha, and Omaha Hi-Lo properly too (i know how to play, i'm just rubbish)

If i'm going to do this, i intend to do it properly. Play at the limit my bankroll can take, make notes on players, read books, watch it on TV etc. Actually, i don't think it's possible to watch anymore poker on TV than i already do.

If you sign up for Interpoker which is on the cryptologic network you can play $5 and £1 STTs. The quality is awful though and you'll have to graft to make some money there. It can be done though, I've played those stakes and worked my way up.

I'm in a huge MTT on Sunday, $50,000 + pool - so should be around $12,000 first prize from a field of around 1,000. I'll need some serious luck from such a field to make the final table, but I'm hoping to cash.

Pokerstars is good place to start. Low rake and lots of tables

I think my best placing from a huge MTT like that is 69th out of about 1400 players. Didn't make much money, but it was nice to place pretty high out of so many people.

I've only made the final table a couple of times on BIG MTTs and they've been satellites and I've not done anything in the following tourney.

Ive reached a few final tables playing MTTs, but i tend to avoid them because u will never get close to the long run in Tournament poker, and poker is a long run game. Theres loads of sites to choose from that offer micro stake SnG's. Good to see bankroll management, cos when u start having 10+ buyin swings (worse for SnGs) you'll be glad u have a hefty bankroll, never ever underestimate the power of variance, it can be soul destroying at times. Paramount, more than comfortable ;)

played not long ago, only because party gave me $50. I turned it into $350 in a couple of hours then cashed $300 out. Couldnt take the other 50 out as had to play 500 hands in total to be able to cash it, as it was the last night in my old house, i knew that there was no chance of doing the 500 hands in time.

some other site has given me another free $50, might login over the weekend and see what i can do with it.

I've won many 1,000 player freerolls, probably only won about 10-12, and entered several hundred, but if i play properly and have the time, i'll usually place quite high :)

Best MTT finish = 3rd/269 in a $10 $2.5k GTD on titan poker, was nearly out just inside the money (top 30), but clawed my way back up to 45k against 100 and 125k, all in with AKh vs KK, flopped 2 hearts but no more joy, not bad for 2 and a half hours work :)

I think WPTOnline has some of the best, smartest players around. They won't play stupid hands, chase the flushes until its mathematically impossible to win, and you will get shown great respect given a good play. Highly recommended from me, and it works totally in £ as well ;)

Freeroll is very different to cash tables.

People check out far more easily, going all in with nothing but a pair of face cards.

The OcUK poker tourneys aren't played for cash, and you'd have trouble taking my title from me ;)
