Police advising to AVOID ALL TRAVEL in Central & Lothian & Borders areas from 2pm-9pm

Watch as all us Scottish folks on OcUK post in here. :p

Edinburgh wasn't as bad as other areas but Cockburn street was closed due to masonry falling off.

A lot of my colleagues at HMV on Princes Street can't get home due to the busses being suspended too.

Taxi to Tranent... :\

Live in Edinburgh, was a bit miffed when I was slightly inconvenienced on the way back from work today.

In Edinburgh and sorry to spoil the excitement but its just been a bit wet and windy here, went for a nice walk this afternoon actually when the sun was out for a while. I quite like a good storm :(

Yup, same here, really been disapointed. High sided van on the Bridges felt like a couple of ****** jumping up and down on the back though. That was this morning.

Waiting for one the "when hell freezes over scotland put's on trousers" joke but reworded for the strength of wind and hanging out washing.

Wind took rabbit hutch top off, they managed to jump out of the hutch but just sat in the garden for a few hours. So lucky as it's so easy for them to escape from the garden.

Lovely day today. Got into uni/work and found out all classes and meetings were cancelled because of the weather so that freed up my whole day. Then around lunchtime we got an email saying the buildings were all getting closed so basically bugger off out of our offices.

Cue a nice trip to the bowling and arcades before playing 5s at night. To be honest I was surprised at how reasonable the conditions were for football given all the crazy news reports and building closures.

:D

Pronoucned as co-burn street. But it's quite famous for that yes and for pipe/drug shops and the goths used to love hanging around looking moody and stoned.

They all disappeared.

It's just tourists and ol' hardcore punk dudes now. And some tweenies. :(

I've been past that street too many times to count now. :)

URGENT – HURRICANE BAWBAG APPEAL

On December 8th 2011, a hurricane of biblical strength blasted across Glasgow
Victims can be seen wandering aimlessly muttering: "Ah wiz pure *** no swearing *** masel big man so a wiz, ah need some jellies".
The hurricane decimated the area, causing approximately £30 worth of damage. Untold disruption and distress was caused...:

* Many were woken well before their giro arrived.
* Several priceless collections of mementos from the Balearics and Spanish costas were damaged.
* Three areas of historic and scientifically significant litter were disturbed.
* The cone fell off the head of the statue outside Glasgow’s Modern Art Gallery.
* Thousands are confused and bewildered, trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting has happened in Scotland.
* One resident, Pocahontis McGlinchy, a 17 year old mother-of-three said "Ah wiz like ‘Whit’s that? Ah canny hear ma choonz innat man Wee Beyonce came running into my bedroom pure howlin so she wiz. My youngest two, Brooklyn an Blackpool slept through it. I was still pure rattlin when I was watching Jeremy Kyle the next morning."
* Apparently though, looting did carry on as normal.
* The British Red Cross have so far managed to ship 4000 crates of Buckfast to the area to help the stricken masses.
* Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings including benefit books and jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos

Drove up it at 11ish this morning, no flying masonry but had some impromptu rally-like moments when a couple of traffic cones came rolling down the hill out of nowhere

ash, I recommend you fully star out your swearies or you'll get a holiday!
