Political Correctness Gone Mad Again

Sorry thats plain nonsence....

If a minority group, who are often not otherwise concerned with an event, can force this sort of change on said event without even being able to provide a coherent argument as to why the event should change then thats not an exercise in 'free speech' but bullying on behalf of the agitators and moral corwardice on behalf of the events organisers/Broadcasters who cave in

And what is your proposed solution?

You really seem to have an issue with homosexuality.... Anyway you can’t fire someone for being gay, it’s a protected characteristic.

Maybe they did make a coherent argument? We have no idea because no one has said who and why F1 have dropped grid girls. A commercial company made a commercial decision. Don’t like it? Lobby to bring grid girls back.

Where do you get that i have an 'issue' with homesexuality ... Because other then using it as an example of unjust pressure from a third party as a means to discriminate then I think you may struggle to back up that claim.....

There isn't a coherent argument against F1/ darts 'girls' in a world where, for example, Beyonce and her backing dancers can strut around on stage in their underwear whilst targeting young women and children and be hailed as a feminist icon's yet women wearing similar or more conservative attire at the darts or F1 is patriarchal oppression

Possibly from your insinuation (twice in fact) that I must be gay if I am more bothered by Tech Specs than attractive women when it comes to making purchasing decisions.

If you claim you are not attracted to these women then there is a good chance you may be homosexual, asexual or at least atypical.

There is nothing wrong with that... But much like with the Stephen Fry comment it may be very relevant if that person then supports women being deprived of work based on their attractiveness to men.

Or I might just be able to separate my sex life from my shopping. :)

The research on humans, as a group, suggests that we are fairly susceptible to these types of overlaps and hence why advertisers don't just simply present an event or product to us 'as is' but may seek to use our other 'interests/proclivities' to promote or sell their product or services to us.

The extent of the effects will of cause vary in individuals

I just Googled up some pictures, quickly...

All I see there is a load of fake tans and tons of slap that make the poor things look like second-hand Caversham skanks.
Finding that unattractive is not homosexuality, it's basic human survival instinct... in the exact same way (and often for the same reasons) that you'd not be attracted to a plate of rancid chicken!! :D

OK... Personally I'm going to put you down in the atypical bracket if you are saying that you are a heterosexual male but yet collectively liken your level of attraction to walk on and grid girls to a plate of rancid chicken.

To be fair these ladies are not my 'cup of tea' but I (and i suspect most men) would be lying if I said I didn't on occasion find them attractive

I'm a heterosexual male (engaged) and I really don't like Strip clubs. I think I've gone to three in my lifetime and that is only because I was on other peoples stag do's and had no other option.

What does that make me Caracus2k?

I don't like going to strips clubs either.... But having been to a few for stag do's and the like i would be lying if I said i found none of the women present attractive...

I don't particularly care for darts or f1 either but the same would be true for the women formerly employed there....

Maybe you are confusing disliking a venue/enviroment with the far more simple concept of whether you would find a person attractive?

Holy crap we are modern men, we are better than this. We are not all cavemen. Stop bringing every one down. :P

From the way you talk, you seem to be claiming some kind of qualification to dictate what is and isn't attractive to the heterosexual man and decree who is and isn't heterosexual... yet yourself also openly admit to not liking these girls, darts girls, strip clubs, F1 and so on....

I'm going to put you in the bracket of Talking ********. :)

I was trying to find an -ist applying to masculine, similar to feminist, the closest I got was masochist. :D

Guyist

Thing is I don't think there is a male equivalent really. Men don't really give a **** about the kind of things feminists do :P

It is all women banging drums in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, an absolute disgrace, whatever next?

Modern men? Ha! emasculated sounds like a more apt description. What, with all that 'modern man' allegedly spends on 'care products' and daren't say boo to a goose where the opposite sex are concerned, do me a favour.

Goodness only knows what many would do in times of conflict. Please sarge I can't wear that tin helmet, I've only just done my hair, now where's my deodorant. ;)
