Why should you? Are you simply taking someone's statement as truth because it fits your narrative? Have you verified that those types of glamping tents don't have their own levelling base?

You need to be more objective and less defensive. Don't be so closed minded.
Because what LOAM said was what I thought when I read the story and what prompted the thread.

I went camping once.

Was rather nice and would recommend it.
I've done proper rough camping in the middle of nowhere in Australia with mates while backpacking. It was exciting and terrifying at the same time - there are some very odd creatures out there and some bloody scary noises in the night! :D

Camping with a bonfire, friends and beer is something everyone should experience at least once. Those glamping tents are more like a hotel and are a complete cop-out! :)

14 pages, nearly 270 posts on whether we think Boris is actually camping or not. And we wonder why the UK can't secure a Brexit deal...

It's a crappy bell tent on a steep hillside near a cliff. I very much doubt it has its own self levelling system. :p
This thread just keeps delivering. :D:D

I guess Q could have provided Boris with a self leveling tent, but it's clutching at straws I think. It doesn't even look like it's been erected properly.

I very much doubt it also, however that was not really the point of my post.

Apparently he couldn’t use a baby sling properly, he’s probably a bit useless at putting tents up too.

Security team got the fun job of taking it down at least, once he’d been spotted. Apparently because anyone could easily shoot at him there and/or some Scottish nationalist might mob the place... (mention of the latter scenario has triggered some).

This notion that it was all for show still requires some faked paparazzi shots and a deliberately cut short holiday etc... not to mention coordination with an angry farmer and/or any other locals who might spot him lest some real paps show up...

Occam’s razor nd all that... maybe, just maybe he actually did spend a night or two in the tent and given locals did see him - someone tipped off the press.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they stayed in the cottage and then probably sat round the fire they are all waffling on about looking out to sea and the tent was for to beer and logs. Anyone who's ever camped even once knows just how uncomfortable even a shallow incline is to sleep on and that's anything but shallow.

I'd like to caveat the above by saying I think the man is of questionable character and a useless PM but I quite frankly couldn't give two hoots where he spends his time away from number 10, to be honest he achieves about the same output whether he's at work or not, no one really notices.

Take from that what you will.

I think almost everyone has been camping? A small incline is hardly a big deal, so long as it’s not perpendicular to how you’re sleeping... head uphill/feet downhill and it’s fine.

But look at where it's pitched, it's far from a slight incline. You'd all end up at one end by the morning

I didn't know that was a thread requirement. Are you sure it is?

That said, it certainly triggered a high volumes of posts from people very keen to weigh in on the subject and protect their investment in all things Boris.

I can't do with Politicians but come on, nobody defended him because they are loyal to him.
You got this monstrously wrong and you can't admit, be a man.
