Happy with move to Z97 from i790, do not believe tech mature enough in particular to DDR4. Suspect results will show DDR3 outperforming it for some time to come. Was going for X99 but went for 4790K etc

Unless these new chips clock exceptionally well across the board I'll be sticking with my 4930K. Can't deny an octo core would be tempting but really one for the benchers only, imagine the 3D Mark physics score!

not interested as gains will be minimal from my current setup - shame really as I was hoping to see some major improvements - ah well.

My Z77 setup is enough for what I do so I am fine on it, when it can't do what I need it to I will spend the money I haven't used for a long time for one massive upgrade.

Isn't that the point?

Why would a company want to offer finance to someone with "poor-crap credit"?

What happens if you lose your job and have no money? That would always worry me.

I wont be, while ill be keeping close eye on ddr4 performance and i am tempted by an x platform next upgrade cycle there just isnt anything that my [email protected] struggles with. I suspect it will be a while yet before i will need something new, i will however be keeping an eye on the 8** launch as my 670s while still good at 1080 can sometimes struggle when hitting them with downsampling

Considering DDR4 is at the price it is at and there is no real need for the performance boost over current platforms, no - I will not be upgrading. Presents absolutely no tangible performance gain in my usage.

I am hoping the reviews show it to be far enough ahead in modern games, then if the price is right (mobo+ram+5930K for not much more than a grand) I will bite. Shame I will have to pay a serious tax for the extra lanes.

Gibbo WCCF claimed it will be 128GB max RAM, some here were interested in that info, is that NDA?

Due to upgrading to an X79 system I wont be upgrading at the moment - But it's definitely something I will be considering within 2 years if im honest! so for now it's a No.

I will be, but over the course of a couple months. The prices aren't going to be cheap and I just don't fancy shelling out a massive amount in one hit!

I'll also be purchasing a couple new shiney rads to keep it chilllll. ;)

DDR4 modules will be available at upto 16GB per module for desktop eventually, so 16x8 is 128GB.

For server upto 128GB EEC/Registered modules will be available with time, crazy RAM. ;)

I voted no i wont as i have the 4930k, i do not see dd4 giving me so much more that i need to spend X amount to get it, when what i have destroys everything i throw at it.

Being on the more mature platform x79 means all its issues have been ironed out :)
