Why are people arguing about this?

The fact is that consoles and console gamers make up an overwhelming majority of the gaming market nowadays, and developers quite simply don't wish to support the PC platform like they used to. There's not as much money in it, it's far easier to play a pirated PC game than an Xbox game and it's just good business to support consoles more and PC less. I know there are many people on here who passionately defend the PC and what not, and fair enough, I don't know what the exact sales figures were/are with Call of Duty 4, but I'm talking about overall market share.

I've been playing it on PC and it's been absolutely fantastic, no reason to boycott it. :p

Don't really see the need to separate pre-orders from the standard yes/no options, but it's your thread I suppose.

I'd like to see a "Not yet" option. I will doubtless buy the game at some point as I love all the CoD games. I just don't have time to play it right now as I'm currently getting stuck into Oblivion (SP) and Quakeworld (MP).

it has been proven before even in this forum that cod4 sold more on pc than on ps3. stop repeating something that is wrong over and over again. you really underestimate the size of the pc gaming community when a good game comes around. there are more than 100.000 people on xfire alone that play cod4 on pc everyday. all these people were anticipating the next Infinity Ward COD but they somehow managed to disappoint them by removing some very important features. btw, dont forget which game holds the record for the fastest selling game on a SINGLE platform: WoW:wrath of the lich king.

Big publishers and developers do prefer making console oriented games for different reasons than "just more sales" such as having complete control of their product and easily satisfied customers that can be milked regularly with not much effort.
Which that were true then PC games would get the respect they deserve but I've proved thats impossible using Activisions own accounts!

your statement is completely incorrect. have you seen the changes blizzard is making to starcraft 2 which is a highly anticipated pc exclusive. changes that no pc gamers wants. what does this mean? they dont care about their own game? of course not, its just the direction they chose to take which gives them more control over their product and bigger profits.

the revenues you quoted come from games like guitar hero and include 3 platforms combined ( wii, xbox360, ps3) and they are before the merge with blizzard which brought the WoW cash cow. secondly its not fair to put all consoles combined against pc especially when they compete against each other.

you also forgot to mention that the revenue from WoW alone almost equaled the revenue from all consoles combined.

What i dont understand is why you want pc to fail so much? xbox360 games leak to torrents weeks before their release and you talk about pc gamers being pirates and all when xbox360 owners mod their consoles ruining their warranty and risking a ban from xbox360 live in order to play pirated copies. can you imagine how rampant xbox360 piracy would be if it was as easy to pirate on xbox360 as it is on pc?

You also mention EA when their biggest franchise is the Sims series...

Btw, how do you feel about the fact that MW2 has absolutely no chance on outselling Wii Fit which is a terrible, casual game on a single console? this is where your beloved consoles are heading, dont expect a major leap from next generation when the Wii destroyed the competition with terrible hardware, graphics and casual games. go on sell your rig and have fun in the future playing Wii Sports 5 on your next gen consloles. Pc gaming will still be alive and kicking.

4 - might buy it after most of my gamer mates persuade me too.

don't care about single player... but if MP can be fun with 8 of us then ill get it.

looks like a total fail as it is now.

I canceled my pre order but gave in today and went a bought it. More fool me! What a load of crap. Its just a port console version. Nothing like any of the previous COD series. I will take it back 2moro as i am less than impressed with as it and it just hasnt got the same feel as the other game.

I play my mates version on the console. Personally I dont think its that great a game. They are just milking the first MW game by uping the price without making too many changes to the actual game.

Its good fun but I have found it doesnt reach the expectations that I thought it would. I dont even think I would ask Santa for it. Its just meh in my opinion.

If youve played it on the pc youll notice the difference. Total different game
Its a kiddies version on cod4 on the pc!

No - I didn't rate its predecessor all that much, i'm more of a single player man and the price tag does not justify the 5 hour playtime.
