Not sure how you figure that out, given that the opposition basically can't do anything to stop a majority holding government.

No the back benchers have been doing it for them. They are the greater threat to the gov. The majority is fairly small and some competence to organise a well thought out opposition on a variety of bills would hold the gov to some sort of account. That's the job of the opposition

All you thinking of voting libdem have you not forgot the student fees back stab ?
That party despises democracy and the let leader Mr Fallon looks like bug eyed, camp cliff Richard.

The graduate tax isn't much different from what you got. But everyone pays the same based on what they earn, not on what their course cost.
And it never ends unless you leave the country or stop working.

I don't actually know why, image wise, TM is now often portrayed as this caring PM, who speaks about core Christian values, based on the facts such as her being vicar's daughter. I actually think in this instance, on who is she really is and her values, could not be further removed from the truth.

Have people forgotten that she was hated by the police, and the one who actually enacted polices that actually were to take away more of our rights as citizens? Or what about the complete failure to acknowledge as PM the social care crisis on many occasions, until many failings were actually exposed? Then further more, what about how she talks about being in favour of having more mental health funding and awareness, but proceeds to underfund and sort out the crisis there that is still happening? She talks about bringing people together through Brexit with us leaving the EU, but surely it starts here at home first? So far it has been the usual sound bites that everyone wants to hear, which is the normal regurgitated spiel week in and week out, without actually doing much.

You could say, I'm one of those disenfranchised ones.

Conservatives and Labour are obsessed with destroying human rights and civil liberties whilst the green party are nuts, that only leaves the lib dems, they are seemingly the most moderate mainstream political party and that alone makes them the most appealing in this dystopian era of socialism and authoritarianism we now live in. They are not ideal, but not intolerable either, so I could consider voting them for them even if they wanted to remain in the EU. At the moment though I don't see myself voting in the general election unless they make some changes to their party.

There is always the possibility that another terrorist will liberate us from Theresa May, however their past failings have not inspired me with confidence in this regard.

I agree to an extent. But the only way it will work is for the lib dems getting into bed with the tories again. Would they do it again? I don't see how with TM as leader this could feasibly work. Unless there was another leadership contest in the tory party with someone taking over who was more liberal and was in favour of the single market, could that be Osborne''s chance? Who knows...

It might be possible that they'd form a coalition with other parties, depending on the result. I think you're right though, since I think no other party will get enough seats to make that possible and that Lib Dem + Labour + UKIP + everyone and their dog wouldn't be a viable coalition.

Minority conservative government? I'm generally in favour of a minority government, but I'm not at all sure it would be the best way to deal with brexit.

TM clearly thinks she can win with a decisive majority of seats. I don't like her politics but I think she's a very capable politician who is likely to be right about that. Unfortunately.

On the bright side, at least she won't go full Erdogan :)

I'll be voting Lib Dem for the same reasons that Energize is considering voting for them - they're not ideal but they're less authoritarian, more moderate, more rational and so I think they're the best option.

The lib dems are more the centre ground than anyone else now, which the tories and labour have moved away from. The majority of the voting demographic is actually very centrist, which the lib dems are catering. TM has decided to go further right, to both please some of the back benchers, and some of the UKIP crowd. The problem is, I would argue they are the minority, so it seems to be a bit shortsighted strategy. Not to mention, there is no guarantee she will hold onto seats that were previously safe under Cameron. The tory party is a different entity now. It could very well end up exploding in her face. I would personally love it to be shaken up again. I actually wanted there to continue to be a coalition government in the 2015 election. But the tory media did their spin, which essentially made every good thing from the coalition seem like it was achieved solely by the tory party. I think since then, people have began to realise the lib dems did more good than they previously thought.

Your joking right?

Of course he isn't. We've had this question many times on the forum, and unless you are a blinkered closed minded rabid supporter of your ideology then the majority of the rest of the people agree.

So, tell us, what do you think was so bad about the coalition as compared to the previous Labour or current Tory Govt?

It's laughable you think the Lib Dems are untrustworthy over the Student Fees issue (when they didn't win the election and had to compromise on their manifesto which is normal in a coalition) but you don't think the Tories are untrustworthy when they said they wouldn't raise VAT and then immediately raised it....I know which had the biggest negative effect on the most people...
