As much as I'd like to vote Lib Dem, on reflection, I should probably vote tactically for Labour.

My local Labour was vocally pro-EU and has a majority of around a thousand. A vote for the Lib Dems might result in a Tory winning the seat. :(

Maybe if I just mute the Momentum crowd on social media, I won't feel so bad about my decision.

Depends on your definition of a benefit doesn't it? If you were a factory worker whose factory has moved east, or a warehouse man who can't get a job in Stoke because he can't speak Polish, I doubt you'd see too many benefits of the single market.

Is that the same Stoke that has an incredibly low number of EU immigrants? lolscorza

Every single argument just comes back to immigrants.

The benefits to EU membership are far greater than the mostly made up negative junk Brexiters believe.

That's not technically voting tactically unless you want to help the tories, because it won't stop the Tory victory but if enough do it then it might stop the fall of Corbyn and result in him staying on for the next election, thus guaranteeing the Tories victory in 2022 as well.

You can bet all those on a zero hours contract now who maybe love or hate them will be wondering if they will have a job now if JC wins - sure a lot may convert into PT jobs but some will just dissapear. He probably needed to word that as tighten up the rules on Z0 contracts rather than end them........

It is an interesting one - major roadworks near me have hit a lot of companies on an out of town retail park hard and one of them has said they are basically going to close for 3 weeks when the next phase of the work goes live as they will be hit even harder until its done and they are struggle to break even at the moment and have a lot of staff on zero hour contracts which would save them a ton in wages as they are largely just paying people to twiddle their thumbs right now (whole thing is a right mess right now and shown just how much the local Tories who have replaced the Lib Dems are all talk and no action) :s

Corbyn confirms a Labour government will end zero hour contracts.

I was just thinking this weekend how nice it is having a zero hour contract. I have one in addition to my main contract which I rarely use however there was some extra work going this weekend. It was great coming in when I wanted and leaving when I wanted. Did 7 hours on Saturday, 3 hours on Sunday in the morning and 5 hours on the Monday. Extra pay for basically no impact against my plans.

I think all matters have got some ridiculously complex that it's borderline impossible for every MP to be clued up, and probably impossible for any definitive answer to be drawn. We do really need a shake up in the way the country is run, maybe for that reason Corbyn is an option for me.

I could agree with 99.99% of what Corbyn wants, but while he is opposed to Trident he's just a no go area for me.

I'd put the NHS as a higher priority than weapons that we will never used and would kill millions of innocent people.

We would all prefer it if the world where free of such things. But alas, we NEED them both as a deterrent and a means to sit at the political big boys table.

I want to vote Green, but will probably vote Labour (despite their problems, and the problems I have with them).

It is one of the biggest fallacies of any society to ignore defence at the preference of things closer to home - especially in complacency when there isn't an immediate obvious threat.

The NHS is ALWAYS a priority for all parties since it's used as such a political weapon. As such I just ignore all parties when they start talking about it since it all comes down to who will pour the most money into the pit. There needs to be a cross party discussion about the future of it that doesn't involve just throwing more and more money at it.

His party's policy is to support Trident, and so that's how his party has and will vote.

Yea, but if he was in power he is on the record as not willing to use them. What's the point in having them in that case?!

I never said ignore defence. I could take your posts out of context and ask if you rather would have nuclear weapons or a decent health service.

I said the NHS should be a bigger concern than the willingness to use nuclear weapons.
