Given how May is doing in the polls at the moment surely the Lib Dems could be worth a shot again no? Chance of another coalition and better odds for a soft Brexit....
It will be something I decide on the day. I'm not convinced Farron is much of a draw.
My bigging up of Corbyn is mainly to have a dig at the more rabid May/UKIP supporters. They bite far to easily.

well they were heavily involved in the last coalition government, Nick Clegg is still around, Vince Cable is(was) supposed to be standing

I know Clegg was heavily involved in the orange book but I can't say I ever thought he was ever true to his former ideals. Although fiscally at least the Lib Dems were solid coalition members.

Well i just finished the T May bit on the BBC QT and i thought on balance this was her best performance so far in the election. Strong answer and less dodging the questions and was more direct. If she was like this from the beginning then the polls wouldn't be such a sorry state for the Tories as it is now. But it may all be a bit too little too late, we'll see.

Now on to the Corbyn bit, i'll let you know my thoughts in a bit

I think he did well, he seems to have come out of his shell a bit.

yup - his public speaking has definitely improved and was probably a bit better than May, he's certainly had coaching... I don't have very much confidence in him as a person though (and not just through dislike of his past behaviour and his current policies), there have been various worrying reports about his behaviour from people who were in his shadow cabinet and had to work closely with him and there is, seemingly, good reason why so many labour MPs wanted to get rid of him. I also don't think he is particularly intelligent - despite having a privileged background (including private schooling) he managed some very poor A-Level results.

Agree. I didn't really think her responses were strong but they were fair considering the hostility. Interested to see what you think of corbyns :)

OH please, stop it with the right wing (Sorry, i guess its just general at this point) claptrap about Iran and NK, its most likely that a terrorist will be the first to set one off, then perhaps Pakistan/India/Israel.

Honestly...

I agree but thats not the whole story though is it - someone fire one off - someone else joins in or retaliates. When it comes to the big boys then thats the point everyone stops and thinks shall we or not - thats the whole point of it. Of course we arent going to nuke ISIS or NK or Iran. Its the escalation that is stopped with the threat of MAD. Those poor souls in the first strike will get it but its not clear it will escalate with MAD in place

fair point re: the forums/wind ups etc.. but surely policies are important too... Corbyn's beliefs and policies are so much at odds with the very coalition you said you thought was one of the best governments we've had... I feel the same way and I couldn't possibly see myself voting labour at the moment under Corbyn as he is so far removed from that. If it was David Miliband vs May then perhaps I could have some more sympathy with that position. I think, if you really liked that previous government, you should seriously consider Lib Dem if there is a chance they can get your local seat.

well I guess as they were only junior partners there was only so much they could do - they did however share some common ground with liberal members of the Conservative party and it was the fact those orange book liberals existed that meant the coalition was feasible in the first place

Agreed. The increase in Corp Tax will work for 6-12 months until loop holes are found or until corporations choose to leave.
Germany - 30%
France - 33%

What's so bad about 27% here, that it will cause companies to leave? Other places in the EU have 25% ish. 20% here currently is really low in comparison.

Thought May still dodged a lot. Didn't know how to answer the nurse. "Yes we value you but can't be bothered to pay you your worth".....suck it up

The big surprise is how Corbyn has come across to the public the last few weeks. Watching PMQs he sounds pathetic when he goes down the "Brian from Leeds asks....." route. Looks assured on TV. Speaks well and confidently.

Also no doubt that he is turning up in public spaces talking on any one. May obviously only attending arranged events.

May should be defending manifesto more. She can run the "preparing for brexit" line but she has put herself in a position where she has to win an election first. Everything going against her is her own doing

Prediction
Smaller majority or hung parliament

ah that is a pretty safe seat... well I guess your vote is only going to be signalling then... I'd still vote liberal tbh.. if there was a bit of an uptick then maybe they'd campaign there more in future elections and so one etc..
