I'm only aware of one Tory voter this time (though suspect a few others), amusingly he's from an ethnic minority background and grew up on a council estate. His Facebook feed is full of him having arguments with various other mutual acquaintances.

The rest, that I know of, are Labour and a few (mostly the smarter ones :D) are Lib Dem.

I don't think it is a liberal bubble thing so much as an age thing.

Can't be that smart voting Lib Dem, knowing that it's a wasted vote. Meaningless vote. It shouldn't be, but until the system changes it just is.

You've made that claim already yet when asked why... nothing. Now you're here again parroting the same line... will there be some sort of follow up argument?

this couldn't be further from the truth, you may want to vote tactically, however it is not a wasted vote. The main parties do look at how they can steal votes from the smaller parties and when they have high turnouts they have and will see if they can change their policy to try and gain your vote.

Well if the Lib-dems aren't going to win, but cause several constituencies to fall to the Tories, then yes, it is a bit dumb. If the vote wouldn't have made a difference, then fair enough, same with Labour voters in a Lib-dem/Tory contest.

And for balance, in Tory targets, its the same idea.

No more meaningless than just voting with the crowd for Labour or Tories which is just going to result in at best the same old same old and more likely both look to be bent on paths which will be quite destructive for the country.

Maybe the smart ones are those voting for Lib Dem and waiting for the rest to catch up ;) (not to suggest the Lib Dems themselves are necessarily the smart choice but sometimes you have to go through some pain to actually get to a better place).

this is a pretty dubious argument - I'm not sure it is wise to assume that all Lib Dems would rather Labour win over the Tories, frankly both May and Corbyn have some rather anti-liberal policies.

Isn't it pretty obvious? In a two horse race, why would you back a third or fourth?

With two possible outcomes, you pick the best from them.

Might as well vote for a Joe Bloggs Independent.

The Lib Dems came in 4th, behind ukip here in 2015 so yeah. I'm voting Labour, but even that is just ******* in the wind in this constituency. It would take a 20,000 swing to get the Tory scumbag out.
