Leona hurts my ears and bores me to tears. The difference between the two is clear. We have 100,000,000,000,000 (approximately) Mariah Carey/Whitney wannabees. who force their way through songs, ruining them as they run them through the warble mangle. Incidentally, neither Mariah, nor Whitney are doing to well lately are they?? Must say something about what people want to hear.
Ray at least is something different. As mentioned before he has a personality, one which seems to be winning him lots of votes. Those who say that Swing isn't popular should really take notice that Robbie Williams had a Swing album out a few years ago which turned out to be his best-selling album yet. Easy listening albums have made a big comeback over the last few years and Ray can tap right into that market. Look at Il Divo, they're doing really well because there was no-one around like them when they started out. Who is there like Ray right now?
The only one i'd buy an album from is Ray. Ben had a great voice, but stuck to rock, when imo he should have done a bit more soul. However, no matter what he sang, every single song sounded exactly the same.
However, I do think Leona will win. Just because people who voted for Ben will now vote for her because they don't want Ray to win. I hope not though. It's about time we had someone a bit different, and Leona is just like all the rest. Talented, undoubtedly - but nothing new.
It was 'I Have Nothing' not 'I Will Always Love You' - she sung that the other week.
