Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

looks very nice, its crazy how much these cars are going for now. I sold my 997.2 1 to 2 years ago, it was a 2010 car with better spec and half the miles for only a little more than that.

Just FYI you also have sports Chrono which is very important on a PDK when it comes to resale. Get some more photos up when you have time :D

I have not had a chance to drive my 911 for 4 weeks now and i really miss it, looking forward to getting back to the uk in a another month to take her for a drive again.

Sports Plus on the 2010+ models means it works just like a manual, it will bounce of the limiter if you don't change gear and when you do pull up a gear if you full throttle it should feel like a positive kick/surge forwards, does it?

I have only had it in manual mode for a few minutes so I don't know if that happens, I will try to remember to test it out next time I am driving. It is such a jump in power from my old car that everything feels like a kick/surge forward so I may not be able to tell!

I finally bought a car at the weekend :D - after much research and searching I went for this Gen 2 997 C2S PDK:

The spec is:
Sport Chrono
Sports Exhaust
PASM
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Climate Control
Cruise Control
Universal Audio Interface
Rear Parking Sensors
Navigation
Bluetooth Phone
Heated Seats
BOSE

The Porsche 111 point inspection was well worth the £200 as it needed new rear shocks, new cooling pipes and new rear tyres (damaged sidewall and a slow puncture). Porsche estimated £3500 for all that which the dealer sorted for me using Porsche parts at no cost. It is all ready to get a Porsche warranty on it in 90 days now hopefully.

Next step is booking myself in for a CAT driver training day so I can have fun while driving it safely - it is a bit of an upgrade from my 318d!

Cool! Congratulations.

Yeah get used to it first, before you go full throttle, those things pickup speed very fast, PDK C2S is like around 9s 0-100mph, very quick car. :)

Went to a Porsche "experience" day at Porsche Reading on Sat. Was a good morning out. test drives in all models including the 911 GTS. Step dad took a Cayenne out and I was personally amazed at how good they are as a total package.
Also had a couple of classic models on display plus a free breakfast and lunch so can't complain as it was all free. Just made me want a 991 GTS-4 more than anything :(

How did you get this? I only got it because I bought a new car from them.

I think the two are different, one is a dealer event and the other is the PEC at Silverstone.

I've had one come through for OPC East London a few weeks ago, which I could go along and test cars out.

I am back at PEC Silverstone on Monday for my other day, so this will be my 3rd time there.:D

They do give them away, my dad got given one, then another when he got his Panamera, and I won one.

This is different. Portsmouth had the same, turned up at midday, asked for any test drives, luckily had a C4S available, although had awful PDK buttons, what a way to ruin a car. Then came back had a few burgers and buggered off. Got some sort of ridiculous phone holder, anyone else?

I believe Chelmsford are doing the same thing as my brother is going to that one this weekend.

911 GT3 RS video coming from CH tomorrow.

This is possibly the most boring review of a really exciting car. :(

Also, as mines now passed the 3000KM / 1800~ Mile mark, ive booked it in for a check over and oil change. I am guessing it should only be a few hundred quid, I guess ill find out soon enough.

When I bought my car the garage unfortunately replaced the rear tyres with a different brand to the front ones and having just spoken to Porsche I wont be able to get a warranty with different brand tyres on the car.

Currently I have:
F - Michelin PS2 N2 at 4.5mm
R - Pirelli P0 N2 at 7.5mm

My initial intention with the car was to run PS2's based on internet research where the general consensus seems to be they are the best N rated tyres for the 997. Has anyone tried both these tyres and can advise if the PS2 is that much better than the P0 that I should just replace my rears with PS2's?

My GTS comes with P0's on it from new and can't wait to get rid of them. They seem to generate a lot more road noise than the comparative N rated tyres which are Goodyears I believe.

I would like to change mine once they are worn down enough to the Michlin Super Sports but they are not a N-Rated tyre.

I'd personally go with the Michilin SS if its avable in N rating or go with the PS2. Ive been told that Porsche are in the process of rating a few more tyres in difference sizes but these will only be released when the new gen cars are announced in frankfurt later this year.

I use PS2's on mine and they are imo better than the conti sports, and p0's. You could always get the tyres swapped and try selling your pirellis as nearly new on ebay or somewhere similar?
