Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Thanks for the feedback [RXP]Andy and theone8181.

Ideally I wanted Michelin PSS but they are not N rated in my size :(. I think I will just replace the rears with PS2's as those are the tyres I really want.

I still have 60 days before I can get the warranty so there will be another 1000 miles wear on the P0's and I think I will book a track day and enjoy having no concern about the wear on the rears :D

When I bought my car the garage unfortunately replaced the rear tyres with a different brand to the front ones and having just spoken to Porsche I wont be able to get a warranty with different brand tyres on the car.

Currently I have:
F - Michelin PS2 N2 at 4.5mm
R - Pirelli P0 N2 at 7.5mm

My initial intention with the car was to run PS2's based on internet research where the general consensus seems to be they are the best N rated tyres for the 997. Has anyone tried both these tyres and can advise if the PS2 is that much better than the P0 that I should just replace my rears with PS2's?

I have a full set of 19" types from my old 997, probably not done more than 200 miles, 7mm on them.

there is a for sale thread on 911uk, take a look if thats of any help.

^^ Wow.

Guards Red and Sapphire blue are the the way to go IMO. Lot's of photos will be required :p

What colour wheels did you choose?

I took the red because its free and it looks good with the black wheel (no other color options)

I will lock the spec down tomorrow, but this comes to £75k +/- so only £10k over what my 991 is worth!!

Edit: Housey did you get one also?

Great news that you've been allocated one! Should be a fantastic car! I've got a thing for yellow Porsches at the moment though... Yellow and black works well too!

I like it too but I like the red on black interior more and I think come resale red will be better.

That's a similar cost to my GTS, so it's got a fair few options on.

yes but you went CRAZY with the option list but I don't know why but I can't help but feel its a bargain.

I know what you mean, I think its a GT badge on the car that makes it extra special. :D

I may have to remove the S from mine. :p

Lol, but something does not feel right about the fact that I had to stand in line and feel lucky enough that the dealer allowed me to spend £75k with them.

Plan is to keep it for a year or so and then maybe look to a 991 Targa or even a Targa GTS

Odd you should say that, as I have been looking at C2/4 GTS at the moment. However, I will wait to see where they go with the new cars when they release the 991.2.

Also on another note, 991 GT3's are starting to drop in price now from their loony high prices.

I have not been following the GT3's for some time but the prices where too high.

The C4GTS is probably the sweet spot but for now its too much money.

I've been offered one for Jan, spec next month. Going to get 991 or 997 GTS shortly just deciding which.

I don't know why, but the targas seem very unpopular even tho i think they offer a nice compromise of convertible/hardtop for this country.

Having a bad run recently.

Shocks\spring\tyres and other bits a month or so back, and now my water pump is giving up.

Groan. Another £500 in Porsche tax.

Yea no idea. I had a 997 targa and I was a pain to sell on. The design on the new on is much much better. I hope it's not long until the 991 Targa GTS falls to around 75k at around that point I would probably move to one.

Honestly spending as much as you do to run your car would drive me mad.
