Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

981 GTS to GT4 or 991.1 GTS is the only way to go

981 GTS > GT4 - I have been in my friends one and from a monetary stand point its not worth the extra £30K for a little bit better performance plus I know ill get some stick for this but I also prefer a PDK.

991.1 GTS - I've looked but its finding one with a spec which fits my requirements.

However, the big difference for me is I can get the 991.2 GTS in a spec of my choice. I think a week in the 991.2 should be more than enough in my mind to see if the car is worth the upgrade.

Just specced one up, 110k for a C2 GTS tempting but too rich for me.

let us know what you think of it

Will do, I have the car for a week so its more than enough time to see if I gel with it or not.

The PTS choice seems to be the thing which will cause the hold up though as well as the sports design pack, I've also been informed there are no discounts to be had on the car as well.

I could maybe get you 10% out of another eu country

Nick Murray going in depth on his options and reasoning on his new 911, wish there was more stuff like this talking about Boxster S options.

quite refreshing view point from him

Also check the lower carpeting on doors. If wet (after rain), indicates door membrane failure. £300 a pop to replace.

If you're handy with tools, i use design911 for parts as they can be a lot cheaper than opc (not for everything tho). That membrane is £240 from there and you could change it yourself in a couple of hours. (When i started this post i honestly expected it to be cheaper). Depending on how they fail you might be able to repair it with double sided sticky tape.

Very easy fix on the 996, presume the same can be said for the later models. Door panel off, whip off old one, then reapply, already comes with adhesive.

Any 997.2 owners here? (i'm sure there is or has been) I'm looking at getting an early gen 2 c2 coupe pdk and was just wondering what if anything I should be looking at when I go an view, I've read a few online threads at various sites but would like to hear from some owners on here if poss :D

Porsche have clearly gone to a production company and said "we want something cool for the internet, this is our budget", and some how some god awful american commercial production company won the contract.

Then again, target audience...
