Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Anglesey is an exceptionally tough track on tyres. I don't know what it is, the layout or the surface but I pretty much killed my fronts in one day there. I had maxed out camber without shims, so about -1.8 but really you need to be more like -3 with the GT4.

Yes, in a day, that's understandable and aligned with my experience. Seeing them off in a few laps is excessive, however.

I was running cup2s. No idea on what geo it’s running.

It may be your driving style; it may not. Too many factors at play to speculate from a distance but killing the fronts in a few laps is alarming. Have you had any tuition or training? I would highly recommend starting with that if you haven't.

Realised your thinking Anglesey but it was fine there, cooked the fronts at spa earlier this year. I don’t think they got hot enough at Anglesey as it was sunshine/showers all day.

992.2 GT3 out next week, gone a few seconds quicker around the Ring than the 992.1.

RS engine and few other tweaks.

More unobtanimum

Overs market is over though.

GT4 RS already in the 120's now. RS Spyders already under list as well.

Even a 718 GT4 for sale here for 62k:

Its a comfort spec but a good example.

We always said the bubble would burst and even though entire market is correcting, the correction on some Porsche models is big, though 997 generation GT cars are very firm. :)

If I move the 600 LT on next year I will be considering getting into a 997.1 GT3 RS or 997.2 GT3, but will also consider a 718 Spyder RS.

I drove and admittedly tired 997.1 RS at Silverstone a few months back and thought….god this feels old. Heavy clutch, very noisy flywheel etc. I was a bit “oh, this isn’t how i remember it”.

Need to drive another because they felt epic back in the day so suspect it needed garage time.

These just don't seem to be selling. If my budget was £130K then I think I'd rather a 991.2 GT3 over the 4RS

I did bid on a .2 GT3 on Collecting Cars with .1 money but it went over :)

Speaking with Porsche Leeds later today regarding a GT4 they have. Crayon Clubsport, PDK, 5800miles, 3 owners, Steels, Bose, PDLS+ - everything I want but doesn't have the red interior stitching. It's up for £82,890 which is well within budget.

Not sure if it has PPF so will make that at least one condition of sale if I can. It doesn't have the GT4 badge on the back which I'd like put on. I'd like to change the shifter to the RS one, I think you can order them through Porsche so will ask about that.

I'd really like a 992 RS but can't really afford one at their current levels. When I was at the Ring earlier this year, on a 2 day track day, there were several there but 2 in particular being driven by professionals and the speed they could carry when the aero was in action was simply astonishing. On another level from anything else on that day and both running nose to tail with drivers fully committed. Also, both drivers looked around 10 years old which shows how bloody old I am getting too :D

I have since learned they were their to coach 2 owners and when they came past me early doors were taking said owners for fast laps. Astonishing to see up close and managed to hang on for a couple of corners (slow corners) before they made their way forwards on the scary stuff my fear of balance impact prevents me from carrying big speed through :D

My mate is selling his crayon GT4 from memory it is PDK, 10k miles, 2 owners, ceramics, PDLS+, buckets, Bose, not sure if its clubsport as its got the carbon seats, but no rear cage, think he was after 80k from memory and he got it due to high spec having the ceramics, PDLS+ etc and his does have red interior stitching with custom seat inserts.

If you were interested I could drop him a message.

Had that been a clubsport, I'd be asking Porsche for my deposit back :)

Picking this up next Friday.

Going to be an interesting year. 4RS is now the first RS car since the 996 you can just walk in a dealer and get a build slot, in theory the 992.2 GT3 will be even less limited as it will adhere to current regs and not need to be capped by the loophole the 4RS/SRS are in.

4RS at 130k seems a great buy, but equally they've gotta be 100k in 2/3 years at most? 992.1 GT3 will drop to 120-140, 991.2 GT3 100-120, and so on. IMO.

In lieu of picking up the GT4 on Saturday, I have started buying a few bits :D

RS PDK shifter - find the OE PDK shifter a bit garish.
RS rear engine panel - prefer the black over silver.
Alcantara glovebox and lower dash section - pefer the lower dash parts in Alcantara.
BC Fabrications exhaust - Inconel with black and gold tips. Bought some String Theory titanium posts in case the OE posts snap off the filters.
Manthey Basic Suspension kit - top mounts, rear links and shims. RPM and Porsche Leeds confirm fitting this kit won't affect warranty.
"Porsche" decal in matt black for the rear spoiler - It's just something I want, not eveyone's CoT I know.

Thinking about BMC air filters but not sure as they do have oil which I'm never keen on. Even though I've read their OE equipment on GT3?
Have messaged RPM Technik regarding fitting the Manthey kit along with brake lines and green pads for steel discs.
I'll take a look at the OE exhaust posts before taking it off myself or handing to local garage I trust.

Oh, I also like the alternative inserts for the seats. Will get the car and try matching up some patterns before making a decision.

992.2 GT3 launch

5 seconds quicker around the Ring I believe...that 99.9% of drivers will never realise of course.

Once you see a proper hand in a GT3 at the Ring you realise that.....yea, cant do that in my car.

Wow a new seat and 8% shorter gear ratios, EVERYTHING i've ever wanted.....

This, even for Porsche, is a joke.

Basically an RS without daft wings, and gains a frunk plus manual option.

Overs though, doubtful modern Porsches are getting slaughtered at moment values wise bubble truly popped.
