Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Had the car above for the day.

WOW

Can't really add much more at the moment, blown away by the thing. Not perfect, but made me realise why an M3/M4/M5/M6 is a pointless waste of space for me and has helped me appreciate once again that Porsche simply do this better than anyone else. Sports suspension and PDK. Jesus Christ it's good, really really good.

GTS with all the bells and whistles? So much want

Yup. Didn't like those wheels, would probably go with buckets as well instead of sports seats but would keep the PDK which is superb. Kills the M4 in every single way bar 2 less seats and overall speed. Outside of that (for me) I would not consider anything from the current M stable, this owns them all by a MASSIVE margin.

What I need to check now....is does it best a 997 GT3 Gen 1....so got one of them coming soon to have a go in again. Porsche next though, decided.

That ccolour works for me housey but the wheels are foul, don't like them either. The standard fit (none option) wheels are the best for this generation of cayman or boxster IMO.

If I could have got away with just 2 seats then it would have been between the Cayman S/GTS and an F-Type Coupe S. Unfortunately circumstances dictated that I'd need a minimum of 3 seats :(

Stunning ain't they.

I am rather tempted as they are so sorted for me it would be sports chassis, PDK, PSE, Buckets, very capable. I'd say on the road it will better a GT3 as the chassis just seems superb on the road and track. Track work though GT3 will have it.

EVO compared a GTS to Jacks 996 GT3 on track and they were both identical lap time wise, so a 997.1 GT3 will have a slight edge in lap times but the GT3 has the race car feel.

GT4 I think will be the best car Porsche make, will be insanely quick as well probably around sub 4s to 60 and sub 8s to 100 with PDK and the handling will be insanely good.

Any idea on price?

Yea I have just been chatting with a friend who has a 'few' nice cars, not least Cayman R and 997 GT3 Gen 2 about this and I said to him on a road the Cayman GTS would best the GT3 again down to simply better damping. This one had sports suspension and I would take that every time of PASM as I always find 'Sport' to be to compromised for fast road and not quite as good on track.

The steering on my GT3 is still the best I have ever felt on a road car and is better than the GTS and the engine in the GT3 is still better as that high pitch whine you get when you reach over 7000rpm is where it does it's party piece over the cooking 911's.

Great car, really really good.

Ive heard noise 65K to 70K list.

Is that GT4 picture real? hmmmmmm

Right inbetween cayman and base 911 then.

The base 911 is 73K odd I believe. I can see this being around the 70-75k mark and then on average you have around 10-15K of options to add bringing it in around the 85-90k range which is too much for me.

Right deal is done and I put a deposit down on a Panamera hybrid this afternoon.

I still cant decide on the colour but I have a week or 2 before I have to give them a final choice.

Spec is as follows:
Air suspension
LED-Rear lights tinted Black Exclusive
Bi-Xenon headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
Privacy glass
ParkAssist system (front and rear) incl. Reversing camera and Surround view
Porsche Entry & Drive
Sport Chrono Package
Adaptive sport seats with memory package
Full Leather interior
Speed limit indicator
Porsche crest embossed front headrests Exclusive
Anthracite birchwood heated multi-function steering wheel
Birch anthracite interior package
Online Services
BOSE® surround sound-system
Universal audio interface

Black or Metallic black lol. My original plan was to get flat black and save the £850 but after creating a thread on the subject I have been convinced that Metallic is the way to go.

White does look nice but I don't want a black interior again

A sunroof would be nice but its small and not worth £1k

Did you order if from the same OPC? Also no PDK?

Auto is standard on the Panamera. Unfortunately they did not have any build slots left. I managed to get 6% discount from my local OPC I was offered 10% from my Czech dealer buy decided to buy it in the uk.

I wanted to order a Cayenne at the same time (not for me) but they would not give me any discount. I said I would pull the trigger if they give me 3% but they offered a big fat 0:)

Very nice, you will have a invite from Porsche Silverstone in about 4 weeks then. That sounds like a very impressive deal, I didn't know they come with PDK as standard.

76 days until I collect mine, also on a side note my number plate arrived from the DVLA this week. ;):p:D

Now add buckets, PCCB and PTV along with the PDK and a X73 and that's one hell of a driving experience. ;)

If you have a chance to back to back a GTS with PASM and X73 (Sports Chassis) id recommend it, as by comparison the PASM feels numb.
