Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

D
Was ordering a Mustang a wrong idea, I can only imagine how good this thing will be to drive in fact I can't see anything sub 100k rivalling it and being as usable. :)

Sounds like you could get a GT4 atleast 6 months earlier aswell!

Let's be honest at 1340kg I'm not sure the statement you made even needs a price ceiling. :D engine over 100bhp/litre NA and manual... Oh yes, a rare breed nowadays.

Earlier is not a factor, quite happy the Mustang is coming later as it gives me Summer to enjoy the 911 and plenty of time to sell the 911 as was hoping to buy the Mustang outright, by having the 911 sold before taking delivery.

But yeah this Cayman has marginally more power than my 911, 100kg less and nearly a 10 year newer design, the drive can only be one thing, sensational.

Ahhh nuts!!!

I have a GTS going cheap??:eek::p

GTS is great but if this GT4 is limited run you'd be mad to not change your order to it if possible!

From what I am told you wont get a GT4 for love nor money, there are a massive number of people on the lists who get first dibs. I am led to understand that the numbers coming to the UK in the first round (ie this year) are very small. This doesn't come from a salesman at an OPC, they experience has shown me, know little.

You have a great car coming, but knowing this was coming stopped me ordering a GTS frankly.

This is true, reading about the car this morning though does make want to upgrade. I think on the scale of things, the GTS is a road car that can be used on the track and the GT4 is a track car which can be used on the road. However one thing that does put me off a little bit is the maual gearbox.

On a seperate note, mine has landed in the UK as of yesterday. woooohoooo:D

Good enjoy. As I said don't think anyone who is just reading about the GT4 this morning will be getting one for well over a year.

So not limited then, something they intend to produce many of and keep producing each year?

Or are we talking GT3 limited numbers and as such the brand new price will always be the lowest price as used 991 GT3's are fetching more than they were new due to lack of availability?

GT3's have gone mad, they are all silly overs and frankly they are due an adjustment at some point this year I fear. The 997 GT3 should be 50's, the Gen 2 later 60's but it's more 60's and 80's at the moment. The 991 is madly over, maybe 25K upwards and the GT3 RS 4.0 is crazy. You only have to look at the left had drive values to see how crazy the UK market is right now for GT3's.

Those prices need to stay crazy, whilst they are high, they make my C2S worth a little more. :D

and the rest if you add roughly around my spec its going to be 85/90K ish. Its going to be one hell of a car though. :D

Yeah, I'd be kicking myself if I were you to be honest, but I like my cars to be more geared towards driving/track than road, due to the seat of the pants feeling they give. So if your more focused towards road then GTS with PDK probably suits you better.

Just this GT4 is not a Cayman with a few bits added, its a completely new platform which shares most of the GT3 suspension and what it does not share has being bespoke to this car.

Minimum of 385BHP and sub 7m40 lap time is nothing to be sniffed at, hugely quick and the drive.

HOUSEY BUY ONE, I WANT A GO!!!!!!! :D :D :D

This is what I bought the car for plus it's my first car in the Porsche world and I am sure it won’t be my last. When I start to get more conformable on the track I will look to upgrade to a GT3/4.

The lack of the PDK is a bit of a turn off for me but if they have a short throw on the gear box that may change what I think on this. However, I well speak to the dealer about getting an experience "tester" day. :D

Mines all been booked in for collection @ mid-day on 1st March.
