FireBIade said:Its a fact that car dealers make awful car detailers. I guess they also let the least senior people clean the cars as it's a bit of a boring job when it's not your own. So they make a right mess.

You have been lucky thenScoobyDoo69 said:they do do a good job of tyre black though![]()

Agreed, they show mainly under garage lighting rather than sunlight.wohoo said:They are not that bad, but they are far from perfect, from a distance and even upclose they look ok, but by our standards, sometimes the results are far from perfect.
I don't buy my cars from such places, my last 10 or so cars have been from a combination of Porsche, VW, BMW, Audi and TVR, so hardly 'supermarkets'. Every single one of them has their own car wash bays and the only time they call in Valet companies, and NOT detailers, is when they make a **** up or someone like me is paying for it!wohoo said:I think the swirly new cars are from the likes of motorpoint etc, pretty much all of the main dealers in my area use detailing companies.Cars nowadays come from afar when new so its no surprise that they are all crapped up.
merlin said:Really could do with a PC but I'm reluctant to spend £200 odd on something I'm not entirely sure I could trust myself with. Although apparently BMW paint is rock hard so it's pretty fool proof with hard paint.
Bri said:To be fair, if you have a new car, then a good washing routine should mean that you never need to use something like the PC.

eidolon said:The PC is orbital so you can't really damage the paint, it's almost impossible
If you wanna borrow mine I'm up in Stratford a fair bit on weekends so you can pop down and pick it up if you want. I've got everything you need (pads, SSR2.5/Pro Polish, nattys wax etc.)
Yep I'll take you up on that. I think I'm good for polish, just need the PC and suitable pads.agw_01 said:I keep my sponge for cleaning my wheels (and yeah, I do have a wheel brush, but haven't used it since I bought it... getting dirty brake dust coloured water in your face is NOT my idea of fun)![]()

Let me know when you're over there next and I'll pop down. I can send it back down to you by courier.
