Portsmouth given Winding up Order

And a rumour of David Gold offering a £10m loan; and the one that Fifa could let them sell players for a 9-point docking...

I can't believe how long this has gone on for. Absolutely shocking.

A loan from the owner of a rival Premier League club would surely breach some rules. It will/should never be allowed to happen.

Giving the likes of Chelsea and all the other teams who havent actually played them an unfair advantage (ie a match day off)

No you mis read me.

All the results, even if you played them or not should be nul and void, and they should just not play again this season, so the teams infact play 2 less games over the course of the season.

Pompy are auto relegated, and the same would happen the next season unless they're in a "fit" state to operate.

It's a joke that the FA / Premier League / Sky are basically trying to aviod admin at all costs because it might knock the "best league in the world" or at least point out a flaw in it.

Again that would give the teams that lost to them an advantage.

No team would have played them, the the league would be a team short, I'd shut down Pompy until they can sort themselves out and be ran in a "fit" state.

*sighs*

I'd just discount, make all the results nul and void.

I'd not let them play again this sesaon.

I'd relegate them, so there are 2 relegation spots up for grabs.

I'd not let them play next season until they'd sorted themselves out.

If they haven't they'd be relegated again.

And some of the teams will have played 37 games and some 38. Now unless you can invent a time machine, physically some teams will have an advantage.

What if Mascherano gets another Red card? Will his ban increase for it being a 2nd/3rd red of the season, if the game becomes null that one of his reds came in?

Looks like pompey will go into admin on Friday so they can avoid being wound up, not surprised they've found a way to worm out of it some of the people running that club are a total disgrace.

So into administration. How this can be allowed to go on I don't know. Any other business would have been wound up a long time ago.

I guess that's last place in the league sewn up :p

I'm struggling to see how they will get out of it even if they are in administration though - they have virtually zero assets apart from the players which don't even cover their debts.

On the one hand at least they will fulfil their fixtures now but on the other it's a bit ridiculous really that a business which so obviously is not a going concern can carry on like this.

I suppose it's fairer on those sides that have played them. Looking at where they are a lot of sides (including us) would have lost 6 points. With it being so tight this year I can imagine quite a few sides would have been miffed.

Does this mean they're allowed to sell players outside of the window then? Or was that a condition based on another outcome i.e. not administration?

Why is it only 9 points and not 10 like everyone else?

Or are the rules different in the Football League or something?

It's because the Premier League is a smaller league apparently, so only 9 points rather than 10 points in the Football League.
