You have no idea how popular the Titan X is in terms of sales. Twenty or thirty people enthusing vociferously on a niche forum and stock shortages when you don't know how many have been made do not equal "popular"

the TX is sold out world wide.........and it aint 20 or 30 people here is it...... try 3 or 4 hundred, maybe more

the GPU is in shortage... the backplate is too.........the full waterblock, everything is flipping sold out, now i call that a huge success for a card that costs £860............... you think how many they'll sell at £650 !!!!!

the TX should only have sold a few, but no, they've sold loads

Being sold out doesn't provide you with meaningful information. Have nvidia manufactured 5000 units or 50000? Are they "doing an Apple" to give a false impression of popularity? You don't know and I don't know.

I also disagree with the numbers you state on this forum.

Still doesn't matter really, the fact is we have no idea how many of them were made, a smaller amount = a quicker sell out = bragging rights for nvidia, same thing apple does when they sell out of iphones and rarely if ever say how many were actually available.

it does matter, because it tells me the 390X is too cheap at £500, it feels unrealistic.

it's price will probably be directly related to its performance, so it'll be somewhere between the 980 and TX....... its the 380X that will be cheap.

AMD said ``there's a Special Limited edition 390X`` let's hope i'm wrong because when is limited edition ever cheap

The hgih demand and high sales of the Titan X is well known.

AMD fanboys seem to ignore that the 970-980 launch was Nvidia's most successful, profitable launch in their entire history, which is shown in the huge market share swing.
AMD fanboys like to go now and own about the 980 nto being a real next gen card or other such nonsense but all that matters is what the public thinks and they voted with their wallets to give Nvidia their best GPU launch ever.

it's not a fanboy thing, it's a warning that the 390X wont be cheap, because if Nvidia can get away with jacking up their prices then so will AMD.

Dunno if its amusing or not that a dyed in the wool NVIDIA fanboy runs about typing "AMD fanboys" at every possible opportunity. Also might want to put more emphasis on your posts not descending into gibberish at points instead of the fanboy rhetoric

nvidia are clever, they know their market, keeping supply limited means they can keep the price high.so how many titans have they acutely sold ?

This is a thread for the discussion of the upcoming AMD cards, why has it once again turned into an AMD vs Nvidia phallus waving competition?

I can't afford to spend close to £1000 on a Titan X card, which is why I use AMD graphics in my computers.

I really want the new r9 300series to be great but I find myself thinking its not going to be as good as I would have hoped.

Really need to upgrade my single 780 but I'm going to hold out buying anything else until we see exactly what it can do upon release.

Do some people say things to deliberately make a user base role their eye's in the back of their heads and tune out before getting to the second line of what he has to say.

Or do they genuinely believe those potential readers will actually read past the second line containing the deliberate troll grenade in question?
Because some people have a real determination to have whatever effect it is they desire, posting the same crap more than they do anything else.

D.P needs a name change.

It is my belief that these people genuinely believe what they type, which is what makes it all the more bizarre.

Hang on there, you'll be branded a fanboy using price as a concern/reason... ;)

This is the GPU section what are you thinking :D
