Didn't someone asked Powercolor and found out it was not the 390x but its a 290x with a new prototype cooler. So how would that confirm anything? Feels like the rumours are getting to much.

These product stacks IF true don't make sense to me. AMD's new mid range card is its old top end card with double the vram fair enough but its top tier card has half the vram??? Why does a 390x mid range need 8 Gb anyway? Just makes it more expensive to produce and sell and people will get confused has they might think its the daddy card due to having such much memory.

As far as I know it has to do with HBM. I think they are having issues producing them in sufficient quantity, hene they have gone with 4Gb. (could be wrong)

HBM is more expensive and more importantly requires the card to be built for it. midrange will have it later with the die shrink.
No confusion, Fury X :)

Well this thread has 276k views so there must be some people looking forward to AMD's new cards. I think it's great there's so much interest in the competition between the two companies. Let's hope that is reflected in the prices and performance!

390x will be their highend for 99% of people, Fury is just a vanity project that very few people will buy.

I like how it says "inspriing tomorrow" on that AMD marketing graphic when they are re-releasing a card that will be 1 year and 9 months old!

I still say both manufacturers prepare for 14nm..that will reset the race, so the one misses out lose a lot. Nv timed maxwell very good, az they have 1.5 almost 2 years for getting profit. AMD don't spend too much resources on a whole new lineup, as 14nm is coming in about a year..so the return time is very short...its not worth it...i bet they switched most of the resources on the 14nm lineup.

well if they really do release a rebranded 290X for a higher price than it already is then more people will just go for the 980/980ti if the Fury is too expensive. Could be a case of shooting themselves in the foot.
