Here is another thing you haven't thought about (as being a rumour thread etc etc)

Nvidia have crippled Titan X and GTX980Ti performance just in case the Fury XXX MILF edition beats them. Later to release a driver that gives a 50% performance boost.
I think you meant a new "card" (remember 780TI?) :p

It is not in Nvidia's interest to improve performance of cards which they already released for a while, as the internet would already be flooded reviews with launch performance of their cards; it make far more sense to give a tinny tiny bump in hardware and label it as a new card model, so that it will show up new on the benchmarks on reviews.

It sounds like he's had different information, coming in from different sources, and he's just bunged it all into a chart. He even says he's 'done his best' to make sure all the benches were taken using the same CPU. Ergo: they weren't.

Just been going through the Futuremark database and if anything it looks like the scores have been made up.

The only one I can find is the one with the screenshot at the bottom of the article.

Are all the scores uploaded to db?

May be a stupid question but I don't run this e-peen synthetics often.

The 290x had a bios switch to switch between quiet and extreme performance modes which I think changed fan profiles and clocks...

edit: it was quite and "uber"

Pretty sure it was a bios switch because I used it to change clocks when I was overclocking.

Yes it was BIOS switch but the only difference was 'Uber' BIOS had more aggressive fan profile. Both were still 1000MHz though.

Difference being Uber could actually sustain 1000MHz.
