What facts?

The card hasn't been reviewed never mind released.

We have seen the card teased it's got 2x8 pin power connectors that we know so from this we can assume it's power envelope. Silent just assumes stuff from thin air like its fact. Also and have said that it uses same power envelope to a 290x so we can assume it's going to be around that level possibly slightly more power hungry so 375 sounds about right.

I'll never understand bickering, personal insults, division, fan boyism and the general non ability to form differing opinions without any of the above - over a piece of plastic and silicone that hasn't even been released. Never :(

Over the fact that I've stated this card will draw quite a bit of power. Not really something a sane person should get defensive about lol.

I'm not assuming anything. Who's said what, sorry? It's under NDA who's told you the cards power envelope? So 375w sounds about right now? That's not power hungry then?

I can't keep up.

As you get older you realise that you should NEVER assume.

As it tends to come back and bite you in the derriere. :)

I hope they keep the dual bios for the air cooled version and a cheap air cooler for the top end card (shouldn't be too hard), plenty will custom WC these and unleash any true potential there is if it's there.

Ohhh ok I can guess everything that puts the upcoming fury in a bad light is fact or most likely true. Guess I'll just get the 980ti then seen as fury is going to fail hard from all ur assumptions which make my assumptions wrong tho you even said we all know nothing but play down what I think and assume as wrong lol. Okay guys sorry for disturbing the all mighty know it all gods see ya

The performance per Watt flip-flops all the time between generations, it wasn't that long ago that we had the 5870 being much more power efficient than the 480 etc.

The thing that I disliked about the 290 I had wasn't the fact that it was power hungry, but that the reference cooler sucked big time, AMD do need to up their game as far as reference coolers go. (That coupled with the fact that it suffered blackscreens due to cheap memory but thats another issue)

That said I really hope the 4GB rumours turn out to be false, as it really would put me off, I want a single card to use @4k untill the next gen die shrinks, at the moment I think it's going to be a bit of a psychological 4GB barrier that shoves me in the direction of the 980ti next week when I make the decision.

Hopefully it at least equals or beats the 980ti at 4k forcing a bit of price competition.

I'm curious how HBM will clock, been a while since we had something actually new to play with. Hope the wait is worth it.

Yea I'm curious to this too seen as its next to the die I'm wondering if there's any heat implications etc. will it use the same voltage that powers the core? Will be interesting to see when it arrives!

BTW i find it interesting how opinions turn for some people...

When news came on the HBM many people was: "ah it can't be that power efficient..vram is only using a little bit of power.....amd is stupid"
Now: "Ah if its 300W with HBM its crap, because HBM uses a lot less power, so the chip is surely crap...amd is stupid"

Titan X release: "AHHH the performance awww (wetting panties)..power consumption is not that important yes its the same as a 290X but look at the performance wooo...amd is doomed"
Fury X matches the Titan X: " Eehhhh this is kinda ok ish..but not great...and it is not power efficient...it will be hot...ams is doomed..."

Actually my 290Xs each use about 75 watts more than my TitanXs when both are overvolted and overclocked.

Both systems are identical

When running Firestrike Extreme

My TX system uses 1480 Watts

My 290X system uses 1780 Watts

4GB isn't really a rumour at this stage. As the yields/supply increases you will see 8GB variants. I've seen enough frame buffer issues at 4GB / 1440p to warrant wanting more at this resolution, let alone 4K. As a gamer is quite perplexing that others haven't noticed the same. There is Dying Light, high texture settings topple this. Lords of The Fallen. Very high texture settings. Shadow Of Mordor, Assassins Creed Unity, Wolfenstein New Order. All whilst at 1440p. Of course dropping post processing effects can alleviate this is in specific cases (DOF, run no MSAA, Motion Blur), but this is a halo tier card. No matter which way you colour it, it's still only got 4GB of memory.

Not sure how many more games it will take for the nay sayers to realise. It's natural for these limits to increase as games progress. The only saving grace is volume tile resources could well put an end to this, but more importantly allow developers to use much higher resolution tiles which means better fidelity textures for higher capacity cards as well.

The logical reasoning for wanting amd ati to do better is because nvidia massively profit gouged this generation. And they lied to reviewers and customers re the 970. If AMD doesn't beat them, then nvidia will surely do this againin the next ggeneration.

I think AMD told an even bigger whopper recently lol

I wonder how many people bought their cards because they were told that by now we would have loads of Mantle based games.

Mantle is a bit like Elvis

Dead and left the building.:D
