You are assuming there are dirty tricks. The source code is available for any developer that licenses it and non of them have revealed anything illicit.
besides which, if they see the DX calls they they can easily see if there is anything purposely trying to impact performance on AMD hardware.

And that is before we even start discussion reverse-compilation techniques.

But the source code is meaningless. If a company can't optimize for a a compiled library they deserve a tiny market share. They could hire some kids right out of school to work on it from them. or they could resort to marketing drivel and PR stunts.

None of them have directly revealed anything because they're bound by contract not to. However lots of them have indicated that they think the whole thing is a farce and hugely anti-competitive.

And far more have said the exact opposite.

If it is actually anti-competitive and there is evidence of deliberate performance impacts on AMD hardware then AMD would have a solid legal case and instead of shouting their PR stunts to the press would be discussing legal matters behind closed doors.

The truth of it is that AMD has a long history of terrible developer relations , nothing has changed in decades.

I missed out on the picture too :( What was on it?

XFX 390X box in high res detail

My bad, sorry :(

Just goes to show the level of childish fighting in the thread, I check it each day and managed to miss it.

Don't worry about it, that's the first time I saw it, so thank you for sharing it. Do you have a backup or source of the photo?

I edited my post above to rehost it, here it is again for those who don't want to scroll up!

The guy who posted it on Reddit said they'd just come into the store today, then promptly removed the photo when told he might lose his job for posting such images. He also mentioned pricing

Our system is saying the price is 449 usd. In Stock date is 6/21, but that doesn't necessarily mean that is when it will be released.
Edit: This is Best Buy pricing and I cannot benchmark it, sorry guys.
Edit 2: Also received a r9 390, r7 370, and r7 360. Will post pictures and stuff later.

Hang on.... its exactly like that, they are encrypted files, this is done upon compiling the final application, this is common practice with closed source applications.

The password is retained by the developer so they can unpack the containors for fixes and patching.

Yep.. It's just like that.. Another example would be..
You editing a bunch film clips on Sony Vegas, you then compile them into one finished file, mp4

Try editing that file again without the source code is impossible.

If you have the pricing that would be icing on the cake! Awesome stuff m8!

449 USD for a 390X...nice! (I mean "nice" in terms of getting an early look at the price!)
