Well I'm asking because anyone can tell those numbers are complete BS.

When OcUK *alone* have probably sold hundreds of thousand or so of the 970 since launch then I'd probably believe those numbers....

(OcUK's own card for instance Gibbo had ordered tens of thousands months and months ago and that's only 1 line!)

And then take into account how massive nVidia are in the USA? Believable imo

There's specific numbers on the back of the TX that shows the production unit number (due to the PCBs being all from Nvidia), can't remember where I found the information but other TXs users cross-verified the info on their own cards.

One of the latest numbers I saw was 8695 (around a month or so ago) from a user. Will check to see what my latest TX (got it a week or so ago) as mentioned above (should be in the 15K range I doubt anything higher).

Nah they be BS. Unless he cares to explain in detail how he got them figures.

Yea i can only see the percentages when i look at the survey. I can't find a number on the total participants to work out any numbers. Even looking at the recent survey for may the gtx970 only has a 2.5% share which is still massive.

It took MSI 29 years to sell 100 million Nvidia GPU's..

But in just 9 months one graphics card 'GTX 970' sold 6 million..

Seems dodgy, if these numbers are legit, where's the source / proof?

1 in 10 people in the UK :D
Hah!

Actually, judging from the fact these numbers are from Steam, I think this refers to worldwide. Which makes the numbers make a lot more sense. I doubt Nvidia would have sold that many cards in just the UK, but considering the billions of folk around the world, I think it's not too far off. Actually, these numbers could be less representative of the full amount, since it's only from Steam hardware survey. Meaning there are more cards out there from people who never logged on to Steam on that hardware.

Well he is the one who said that an overclocked GTX980 is the best card in the world and will make Fiji redundant, but not funnily enough the GTX980TI,who he then said would sell a lot meaning secondhand GTX980 cards would flood the market and then make Fiji retundant but not the GTX980TI.

Or something...

"The HBM-based cards will have short supply thanks to the limited supply of High Bandwidth Memory itself, which isn't AMD's fault exactly, but it's going to hurt them."

http://www.tweaktown.com/news/45835/amd-radeon-fury-rumored-limited-30-000-units-2015/index.html

because the product wont bear a cost that makes it profitable enough to ensure supply is in place?

a 4GB card in that segment, with performance parity with green team 980ti, just wont sell without a USP or a massive discount {hence no drive to ensure supply is there)...

it doesnt look like usp will be DX12 support,
may be if the card will be super quiet..its got to have something unpublished

otherwise its just a place holder treading water for 8GB hbm/process shrink, perhaps acting as a very tentative halo product for the lower tiers which do have something real?

Last 'active users' figure from Valve seems to be 125 mill. So the 'Total 8.18% 10,225,000 owners' works out but there's so many issue with doing it that way. :/

I assumed that from OCUK sales, that is amazing. Here is steam survey at the end of May I compiled.

Geforce 900 series

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4.88% 6,100,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 1.34% 1,675,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 1.26% 1,575,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 0.34% 425,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 0.20% 250,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X 0.06% 75,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M 0.04% 50,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 0.04% 50,000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940M 0.02% 25,000

Total 8.18% 10,225,000 owners

Geforce 900 series had broke through 10 million owners milestone. Here are 75,000 Titan X owners worldwide at the end of May, I think figures will slow down and stop at around 150,000 while 980 Ti will have a massive boost to a million owners like 780 Ti did.

Where did you find this? Looks like you just made these numbers up? I looked at the first one the 970 % and your way off it's 2.54%.
