I remember all those peeps saying we were stupid buying GTX 980's as the 3XX series were coming soon.

7 months+ later...

Still waiting for 3XX :p

No it wasn't that, well not from me, it was more the fact that gk110 owners shouldn't be tempted by a priced up,mid range card, as it was very obvious Gm204 shared into the mobile line too.

All this waiting is boring, I used to have 295 x2 and due to no drivers for crossfire and no new cards I was forced to go NVidia.

In all honesty the £600 I paid for the 295 was good for a handful off games, but no I have zero issues but has cost me an extra £300 on top of that.

I hope amd picks up the game as they are just losing custom everywhere.

I swore I wouldn't return to NVidia due to high prices proprietary tech and wanted to support amd's values but they need to remain competitive.

Please amd come back fists swinging for the good of the pc community.

I thought they said June? That still almost two months :(

This is exactly the thing i was talking about earlier "They" as in amd have said bugger all about a release date, yet people are now saying amd said this or that when they haven't. Like a game of chinese whispers waiting on a new card.

it might be worth refitting the 970 .............selling Titan X at a slight loss and getting the much quieter 390X

because unless i can reduce its noise it's not worth keeping !!!!

I remember when I was sad about the 390 etc not being 20nm or even 16nm like rumours suggested ages ago, now im just sad that it's taking so long for Amd to release anything to rival Nvidia.

Secretly im hoping it's because they have a massive trick up there sleeve but what ever it is. I hope it comes soon, so bored of waiting.

If it's another long awaited card that ends up like the hd2900xt then I'll be so sad lol

Part of the time lag could probably be attributed to the implementation of HBM memory, obviously AMD thinks the technical benefits this brings out weighs the delay in getting new products to the market place.

We probably got another month atleast before AMD even hint at the new cards, which isnt too bad though as by then we should have a plethora of Freesync screens with reviews out (IPS 1440p 144hz - cant wait to see reviews). Should put AMD in a decent position if the card is a bit of a beast coupled with cheaper than Gsync, Freesync, screens, especially if the ASUS IPS screen is good.

While i dont think it will have Nvidia fans swapping over, it will definitely make people stop and think which camp they want to go with in the long run. Thing is with the Freesync, its a Vesa standard so i think more and more monitors will become certified with time as they are released.

Now we just have to wait and twiddle thumbs until AMD deem it time to release info
