Post your bikes thread

I get around 120 miles from a tank on my Mille, riding at moderate to fast pace. There's a further 20 ish miles after the light comes on so as soon as I see it light up, I'm looking for a petrol station pretty sharpish. :D

I wanted to ask you what you were getting from your Mille.

My Falco drinks fuel compared to my old Fazer.

I know it's 400cc's bigger, but I was getting 170 miles out of a tank caning the Fazer. I filled up the Falco Monday on my way to work & had to refill TWO days later! I think I'm getting about 110 for a full tank :(

That's quite a cost to swallow! :p

Sounds good tho :D

Oh & the small reserve caught me out. I'd get about 30 miles out of the Fazer....guess who ran out of fuel last Friday... :o

Oops!!. :p

I've never actually completely ran out yet, but I reckon I must have been very close to it on a few occasions. Early ( 1999-2000 ) RSV's had a slightly larger alloy fuel tank compared to the 2001 onwards resin tank which was smaller. Although I'm not sure how that translates over to the Falco. Your tank alloy or resin/plastic?.

The Falco tank is alloy.

I also need to sort the suspension - the guy i bought it from was about 6' 2" & 16 stone. I'm 5' 7" & abut 10.5. The arse end is well up & very stiff. I'm on tip toes. Weight is all on my wrists.

Know nothing about fiddling with suspension tho.

Big "pure" sports twins seem to have shocking fuel economy- my TL1000S gets about 100 miles to reserve, with about 20-30 more after the light comes on. Having said that my BMWR1100S gets at least 160 miles with the same size tank, a bit less power and more weight.

How much did it cost you to get a custom map for the Power Commander? I've got a map, but just using a generic one I downloaded from Dynojet for my end can....still not perfect but a lot better than before I had the power commander.

Cost me £120 I think, JHS Racing in bristol had a special offer on them :p but your looking at £150-170 usual going price for custom PC map, it is worth it though :p

Just make sure you start at a base level and make a note of the settings as they are now so that if you fluff it all up you can at least return to a level playing field again. I would say hop over to the Falco section at AF1 and you will be pretty much guaranteed to be able to get advice there on sorting your suspension levels out :-

On a hard run i can drop a tank £14 in 80 miles but usually get 110ish but big vtwins are known for sucking the juice .

Persil

Ach......It's a trade of we v-twin owners have to make to achieve the massive grins they give us. :D

oh im deff not complaining :P but with pc3 and akros its never gonna be economical . but what else outdrags a 180bhp r1 in a 3rd gear roll on when 40 bhp less :)

180 is that what the new ones put out ? or is it an older one with a bit done to it ?
hope to get up PDQ's in a few months when ive found a pc3 at the right price for a remap

Thought i would post mine again, as it is now actually looking like a bike again :D

another question guys when having a remap do you guys have the TRE on or off ??

must admit I left mine switched on.. they have different effects on different bikes. I know on mine it opens the secondary butterflys on intakes a couple of thousand rpm sooner, though it's dam hard to notice a difference when switching on or off.

I heard a rumour with a lot of tuners first thing they do if tuning a bike is chuck them in the special rubbish bin marked 'TRE DEVICES'

who knows :)

lovin the monkey bike :D, first question you should ask self though, 'will busa motor fit?'
