Going down Craner Curves:

Going down around Craner curves at 130MPH is quite a feeling, its very fast when you realise you are only doing an extra 15-20MPH down the actual straight!

Heres a bullet cam of a few laps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXZ498DdK3w&fmt=18 Bullet cam is fisheyed tho so things do look a lot further away than they actually are but you get the idea.
lovley bike

Lordy Lordy! That was a baptism of fire!
Got the bike at 7 and was home in Surrey in an hour - rain so heavy the Hangerlane underpass was a foot deep in water, Marylebone road was a tad damp but once on the M4 :-O it was so tough to see with my visor constantly fogging and horizontal stair rods hitting me inna face. James at Lazer Motorcycles gave me a pair of Spada pants to keep me legs dry as my Frank Thomas trousers arent fully waterproof but my leather jacket weighed a TON when I got home.

I opened the bike up on the M25 and Egham bypass to get an idea of the power...
HOLY CRAPOLA. Once past 9k(I think, tricky to see the revs/speedo!) it flys!
Such a lovely difference from my CBR125 and the ER5 I did my lessons/riding on recently, feels well planted, turns in nicely, felt confident filtering and moving through traffic, stopping so much better as well.
I was already hooked on bikes - now its a love affair <3
That is all - now to chillout as was an intense ride home!

Might be an idea to check this place out http://www.bikersoracle.com/cbr600/forum/index.php. My name is MIKEYMC there. Check out the threads on shocks as theres links to a company that will redo your rear shock for about £80 and makes a huge difference to handling.

Edit: Left the link out :)

Cool will do! Signed up but not posted yet.

Anyone have any idea if the seat is a lock n lift to get to the storage area or its a spanner job on the CBR600F c.1997?

Spanner unfortunately. Both rear side panels off then two bolts.

But I will be trying to come up with something that doesn't require a spanner like this LINK. Or I may just give in and buy one!

Bah how inconvenient!
Hmm, a bits of metal, self tappers and a push-to-close lock with a small key will do it! Thats my project for next weekend me thinks.

96 250 Hornet! First bike I got when I passed my test; The dimwit who had it before me forced one of the plugs in on the wrong thread, but it lasted for 1 years before spitting it out and taking the threads with it, then I moved up to a 636 ninja, then a 1200 bandit.

After the bandit 12 blew up, my dad had just finished the engine work on the hornet, so we put it together, and its mine again! Got the wheels painted flourescent orange now, and a CR250F can and a link pipe made since that pic was taken :)

hey guys need a tad advice. from previous threads ive been passed my test since july but am running round on a 23 year old bike which is costing me a lot of money o keep on the road i.e rectifier gone recently on top of everything else and the inability to buy parts for the bike.

Im keeping her before anyone asks cost me £400 and as my first bike will stay with me.

however looking at a bike shop today i am not normally swerved away from my VFR, however there was a Ducatti 900 SS Supersport 2008 reg, 320 miles on the clock for just over £3500 and boy am i tempted, I dont want a really fast bike as my next one, I dont have the experience for that, however this is 80HP 180kgs and from everything i read seems to handle like a dream.

anyone got any opinions ? any experience ?

would it be a worthwhile upgrade from my 1987 VFR750 ?

i feel the price is too much but if i could get for sub £3k might be worthwhile ? the guys also had a 50cc monkeybike in there for £500 so thinking of getting him to throw that in lol

so £3 - 3.5k and a monkey bike for a 900SS supersport worthwhile ?

They stopped making the 900SSie in 2005/2006 I think so it will be one of many that were registered late. You can still buy one brand new for £3999 here: http://www.kjm.net/

They are very nice bikes which whuile "only" having 80bhp are quite light and handle like they are on rails. Full brembo brakes and showa suspension, stops on a dime and is more than enough to keep up with anything on the road.

I race a 1999 900SSie and it really is a lovely bike to ride. I also rode this bike on the road before I stripped it for track use.

A very nice bike to own, cheap to service and easy to work on. Service interval is every 6K miles and the aircooled SS motor is pretty bullet proof.

I dont want to sound liek a Douche Bag here, But why would a 125 have a brembo caliper on it a bit of Sheep in wolfs clothing aint it?

I know there making 125's rapeed these days but still a bit over kill aint it

I've looked high and low and can't find any that would just fit straight away. Best thing is find ones you like and mod them to fit.

For stuff like that you're best asking at the cbr6er's forum.
