Post your bikes thread

I dont want to sound liek a Douche Bag here, But why would a 125 have a brembo caliper on it a bit of Sheep in wolfs clothing aint it?

I know there making 125's rapeed these days but still a bit over kill aint it

A single 2 pot brembo on a single disk is about right for the bike, just because it's brembo doesn't mean it's overbraked :)

Say a YZR125 weighs at a total guess 115kg, a R6 would wight about 165kg and have twin discs with 4 pot calipers, now that sounds overbraked also :)

Suppose.

Im just praying me caliper and Master Cylinder rebuild has worked, Ever week or so lever was unresponsive just pulled right in one it had been pumped a few times it worked fine so overhauled it all

Wet weight about 180kg and then at least another 70-80kg of rider :p they do stop well though! I cant stess enough now how important brakes are lol, mine were only lacking race pads to make them even better, but even that would not have scrubbed off 60mph in 10 meters!

And if it's a 2T no engine braking :)

Cant wait to get it derestricted

Well seeing as I have FINALLY sorted out some photos I took a couple of years ago of my bike when I first got it I thought I'd throw a few up here just to share with you guys.

600 single of some sort? had a fork converstion though by looks of it.

Cant remember where ive seen that twin radiator setup before...

The indicators are non standard, but I just googled it and it's instantly recognisable .... once you know what it is :D

Anyway, the Diversion.. Currently on portuguese plates, so I'm chasing up the paperwork for it. As well as that needs a few new bulbs, mirrors, clutch lever (snapped off), chain + sprocket. Then hopefully it's ready to go!

well thought id finally get round o posting some pics of me bike, its a ongoing project as theres a number of htings id like to change / repair etc butt heres a couple of pics and a brief overview.

as you can see form the pic i have so far bought a new touring screen which has made a huge difference as well as new grips.

so as you can see from the pics shes looking ok, however for those of you with keen eye site lol, there are a number of issues.

1: its an import to the uk and therefore is running with kmph clocks.

2: the rear left exhaust is not lined correctly, this i found out is due to a previous owner letting it rot away over a winter and the rear subframe being remade by hand rather than a new one bought. not good.

3: there are numerous chips and scratches, not surprising for a bike that is this old.

4: its been resprayed to a newer paintscheme, it should actually be a white and blue VFR.

5: it is standard screws and washers that are pinning the fairing and screen on.

anyway those are some of the problems here is what i have done so far

Replaced the Screen
Replaced the Grips
New Rectifier
New rear tyre
New top and bottom head bearings and fork oil
New Brake Pedal
Full Service including K&N Filter, Iridium Plugs and Good Quality Oil

things on order and to be done over the winter

New Dashboard in MPH from the bay
New Rear Subframe from the bay
New Motad 4-2-1 Stainless Steel Silencer
New Chain and sprockets
Wheels refurbed and painted black

thats pretty much as much as my wallet will allow for now, however come next season im going to look to have the bike resprayed possibly depending on price.

anyhoo there she is a 1987 VFR750 FH RC24 :)

Glad your enjoying riding just remember to suspect every one else on the road as a ******* idiot and will not go far wrong :)

Get some nice pipes on it...not motad..to quiet. Looking good though.

that may well be true but finding parts for this bike is like trying to find hens teeth which is saying something :)

plus ive already bought the motad pipes lol i think there is only one manufacturer currently doing pipes for the bike which are lazer, motad stopped making them ages ago however I found a the silencer cheap on M&P old stock £200 for it as opposed to nearer £400 for the lazers.

The really annoying thing is pretty much any VFR from 1988 onwards you can get everything for but 1986-1987 is a no no :(

Here I am in the same boat as you but with the 86 Model, Im strugling with some parts too.

Few sites I have fount

Wemoto

Pattern Parts

If I find more I will post them up.

I personaly have used both and recomend them, Wemoto stuff was ordered on the friday and came the next day, even tho I paid STD Delivery.

Guy that Owns Pattern parts is also spot on, Had issues with something going missing and he kept me up to date and sent out a replacement, first one turned up few weeks later so sent it back.

On the way to work today I passed a Triumph Sprint ST, Hmmmm early morning slavers coming out my mouth, was lovely,

yeah i have the wemoto one on my favourites a really good one though mate is davidsilverspares, if wemoto dont have it david silver normally do :) checking pattern parts now though :)

Eye I forgot Dave Silver, Not used him but have been recomended.

I need an Inside Fairing cover, You know the bit that covers the gap between the frame and the fairing, Has 2 screws in it one at top one at bottom. Mines has perrished and cracked.

I wouldn't bother personally, my Fazer had kmph clocks and I rode that for over a year with no worries. You just suss out what the speed limits are in K's and when you're between them you just sort of guess! I did look into it, or getting/printing a new background for the clock with mph, but I never got round to it and it never bothered me in particular. If you're gonna do it leave it til last.
