I think this is one of the most opinions=facts threads on here.. every time I see that sort of thing I just end up thinking "wheels too black, would not bang" lol

Yep, matte black suits some cars and IMO that is one of them. I would have no issues with that.

Personally, the matte wrap doesn't do it for me but it's still a gorgeous car - no denying that!

Same. As I said, it looked much better in the flesh, but I'd probably still prefer to remove it at some point, as it's dark blue underneath. One of my biggest reservations would be keeping it clean. But there's also the advantage that it keeps the paintwork protected, so it can be removed if he wanted to at a later date.

Any minor reservations about the wrap were instantly forgotten once we found some decent roads though

No pics but in the space of 2 minutes while driving through Sunningdale I saw:
Mclaren MP4-12C, Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Hurracan, Rolls-Royce Dawn, Koenigsegg something, Tesla P90D, Merc SLR, and a whole bunch of Series 3 Land Rovers. No idea what was going on. It's an odd feeling when driving the XJ makes you look like a pauper.

Well, it's very definitely an Astra. One thing I do wonder about though, the only cars I've ever seen burned out are Astras and Peugeot 206s. Not just one or two, but probably about 6 of each. These cars are also famously driven by a very specific demographic down here in Lambeth, I wonder if this is cause or effect.
