Post Your Dash Cam Footage

what kind of thing? turning out of a junction. yea, i do it quite regularly. i thought it was going to be a clip of someone coming out and driving at 5mph. the video clip appears to show a car coming out of a junction and albeit a bit slower than you want, them getting up to speed. any more of the clip that shows the driver maintained their slow progress, in which case you have a point.

One of the first things you are taught when learning to drive is to not emerge from a junction if doing so would cause another driver to potentially have to brake, stop, take avoiding action and you should quickly get your speed up to that of traffic travelling on the major road. As I was over a crest and into a downhill I had to brake a fair bit to bring my speed down from around 50 to IIRC about 25MPH and they took their sweet time getting up to speed - they didn't significantly increase speed after that clip for quite awhile. Then ironically when we got to the next village they continued through the 30 at about the same speed as they were doing in the NSL while I dropped down to the speed limit :s

I don't make a habit of pulling out on another driver but occasionally we all make mistakes and/or if it is busy sometimes you have no choice but to be pushy or you'd sit there forever - but if I do I at least make sure to get going once I've pulled out.

EDIT: My dashcam due to the mounting position and lens angle kind of hides speed a bit as well especially changes in speed - it was a fair bit more dramatic change than the clip conveys.

They didn't even stop at the junction, they can't have been looking properly given the road furniture in the way and the fact you emerged over a crest. I have more issue with that than their speed although I also see your point there.

Yeah - I'd hazard they'd have still emerged if I'd have had to stand on the brakes to avoid hitting them as well...

fair, and on viewing again on a larger screen rather than the thumbnail (better sense of speed i guess) i stand corrected. driver emerging from the junction is a **** - you're forgiven this time :p

I'm generally pragmatic when someone is cheeky in pulling out if they only cause me to ease off and they make an effort to get up to the road speed. Problem is these drivers are the same ones who'll pull out on people on a dual-carriageway expecting them to change lanes to accommodate them - not always seeing there is a good reason why that person hasn't changed lanes like a motorcycle coming alongside them or a fast approaching vehicle in the other lane.

Not worth a video - approaching a corner could see brake lights and debris - 50 yards of rocks knocked off the side and car bits - they must have hit just about everything possible:

Jesus, hope no one was seriously hurt.

Not sure but didn't seem like it - was already about a dozen people on the scene when I got there so didn't stick around.

Looks like they grazed stuff left and right when they lost control rather than hitting something directly - there is wire netted loose scree on the sides of the corner which they'd hit spreading it over the road. (Hopefully it looked more dramatic than it was).

Still ended up on the roof, unless my eyes deceive me? Be brown pants time for sure.

Definitely would have been pretty dramatic but I think/hope they got lucky and just grazed stuff rather than any hard stops. Won't know for sure unless something in the news.

Absolutely zero mention of the incident above in any of the local news or groups - so I'm guessing no one suffered any real injuries. Meanwhile 3 other people have managed to turn their cars over in the general area since... for instance https://www.dorset.live/news/dorset-news/horton-b3078-cranborne-traffic-crash-7047526

EDIT: Little further afield but yet another one https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/20120035.car-overturns-manor-road-bournemouth/ people do know which way up their car goes right?

I dunno what has happened to driving standards post the lockdowns but the frequency of accidents seems to be ramping up constantly - barely a day goes past without a major one within a few miles of me.

EDIT2: Not seen anything about that incident at all but people around here still can't seem to keep their vehicles the right way up... https://www.dorset.live/news/dorset-news/person-seriously-injured-car-flips-7115589

Felt this was worthy of a share. Filmed on my iPhone admittedly but caught on my O/H's dashcam too. No not asleep at the wheel. This bloke was distracted by something but couldn't see what other than the cigarette in his mouth.

8:50AM on Monday morning. Followed for a few miles driving in between lanes and generally being all over the place :o

Almost like he is trying to persuade you to get out of the lane 3?

We were behind for around 4-5 miles in both the left and middle lane also. The driving behaviour was the same when we weren't overtaking, though I can see how the 25 second clip might make it seem that way.

In any regard indicating left and then moving right having driven in the middle lane, with an empty left lane, for a mile is hardly exemplary!

Experienced Renault road rage this morning with this delightful guy:

I honestly can’t remember what he was shouting at me from the window, not that it mattered. I’m tempted to report the incident, but not sure what it will achieve.
