Post Your Dash Cam Footage

So if I'm reading right, you're the white car in this scenario and you fail to yield as per the highway code/road traffic law? And you think this makes you a hero in the story?

The irony of course being that he's literally putting his life in the hands of a truck driver. As a self professed cyclist, he should know that there are zero altercations a cyclist can win against against 50 tonnes of death, rubber and steel.

Many cyclists struggle with this concept - you may be legally correct, but that's not gonna help you when you're sucking your chicken through a straw and peeing in a bag taped to your leg.

Too many cylcists act like they're Boris Grishenko ...

LOL the driver of that white car in the video I posted earlier has filed a privacy complaint and trying to take legal action...

Video has been updated to blur out identifying features and comments removed with their registration...

that tesla driver on autopilot trying to avoid the lorry will have a similar conversation with St Peter ... but Elon promised...

Public space therefore no expectation of privacy.
ANPR system on the dash-cams would be great to alert on those type of pariah drivers when they are in the vicinity,
like I know plates of persistant abusers for close overtakers. and the good guys -
... social media type system ? to like/grade individual reg plates.

What's that got to do with anything

I see you still haven't figured out how to quote either

There was some cyclist race yesterday and low and behold some lycra clad right in the middle of the inside lane of the motorway. It was something to behold. All it takes is someone not paying attention for a few seconds to wipe him clean off the face of the planet. There was a marshal at the next junction but I thought it was a bit crazy to hold something like that with a stretch of the race along the motorway which was open to regular traffic. I could even see them coming down the other side of the motorway as well. Complete madness.

That's illegal!!!!

My mistake it was actually on the A50 on the way to Stoke but still a busy dual carriageway at the best of times. Even on a Sunday.

They used to do that on the A30 near where I used to live - cycle "race" with live traffic coming full pelt down a steep hill (Babylon Hill) with a roundabout at the bottom of the dual-carriageway and sail right across without slowing til someone pulled out on a pack of them - can't remember outcome now but it was nasty.

They'll be Time Trial racing, solo riders set off in 1 or 2 minute intervals. It is legal and has been since about 1960.

A more traditional cycle race with a Peleton will usually have front and rear lead cars - one of which will be the race director, several motorcycles to ride ahead and close junctions as they pass through and marshals on repeat corners of any circuit. These are sign posted weeks in advance and tend not to be on major or main roads except for national events like Tour of Britain etc.

In relation to my post, it was a long time ago now so can't remember the details, but this was either the Milk Race or a closely related event - it came through my town 2-3 times when I was a kid. You'd get a pack of about 20-30 riders then another 100+ spread out. It was very haphazard with roads closed or not, etc.

They stopped it after an incident with live traffic as mentioned above - I don't recall the outcome but it would not have been good - cyclists coming down this hill at pace onto the roundabout at the bottom: https://goo.gl/maps/XWoHJ6yGvsKekRoUA ... as can be seen from the verge there it causes enough issues normally :s

People like this annoy me :s

Road empty behind me, wouldn't mind if they then got going but nope just dawdle along not giving a ****.

What's the point in having a pick up if you aren't going to get an inch from his bumper to inform him he was wrong?

Slightly serious answer - I honestly find I can be more chill when driving it than a regular car - though I did still have a few choice words for the driver hence no audio.

I guess you are one of the drivers who pull this kind of thing.
what kind of thing? turning out of a junction. yea, i do it quite regularly. i thought it was going to be a clip of someone coming out and driving at 5mph. the video clip appears to show a car coming out of a junction and albeit a bit slower than you want, them getting up to speed. any more of the clip that shows the driver maintained their slow progress, in which case you have a point.

They didn't even stop at the junction, they can't have been looking properly given the road furniture in the way and the fact you emerged over a crest. I have more issue with that than their speed although I also see your point there.
