Does anyone know a programme which can help a complete noob make a mix out of a few songs?

I've got about 20 trance songs which are all-time die hard favourites and I'd love to make my own personal mix out of them. Surely with software anyone can do this?

Software makes it easier but its far far far from fool proof. You still need to know the basics and then spend a good few hours practising. There's a thread a few posts down about mixing software if you want to choose one

thats like saying with an instruction book you could drive a car straight away

even if you use software you still need to know basic music theory (beats, bars, phrases etc)

ableton would be your best bet though, you can arrange them all out in order and then mix them, not having to worry about cueing, track choosing etc

what are the 20 tunes btw?

I'll give it a try.

I'm still making my final decisions on the songs as there are more than 20 at the moment. I have only been in to trance for the last year, so obviously I don't know the classics but these are my favourite tracks. Most of them anyway. All these tracks I have paid for or downloaded separately, there are still hundreds of songs from compilations I listen to regularly.

i have most of them i think, i could have a go at mixing them if you want, im no expert though...

Nah I couldn't possibly ask you to do that. It's too time consuming. Unless you have a personal reason or want practice at mixing or something?

both really :) would feel good if i could help out a fellow ocuk'er and any practice is good practice :D

i've looked at the list and thought of a nice way to progress through the tunes (most of which are belters!)

:)

That would be awesome.

I just realised I chopped Amnesia - Nitrous Oxide from the bottom, and then tune is absolutely unreal so if you do decide to do a mix could you include that? :D :p

As I said though, don't bother unless you've got nothing else to do and fancy a bit of practice!

Cheers

This is my incomplete setup.

I have 2 Pioneer CDJ1000's (the other is not seen but too the right of the setup), 2 Technics SL1200 turntables, 2 Technics SL1210 turntables (not seen, currently being refurbished and modified by me), an Allen and Heath X:one 62 Mixer and somewhere I have a Stanton battle Mixer somewhere.

The decks are set up on the packing crates while i build a desk for the decks and CDJ's. Might be there till October at this rate :s

This is half my record collection, the other half is in the crates the decks are sat on.

I don't suppose anyone here has a mixer up for sale, sadly the mixer i've got died this week. The main critera i'm looking for is anything cheap! I don't care about how many knobs or fiddly bits it's got, just capable enough for me to plug into the pc have a play around with at home :)
