Post Your Garden!

Recently had my garden done, the only problem I have now is which is partly my fault at the time. Instead of suggesting to the landscaper to just top the flower bed with soil, to save a bit of money he has re-used some of the old dirt from my dugged out garden which had roots to weeds.
The main reason to porcelain the whole garden is to avoid the need to cut all the weeds, but now I am dealing with weeds growing inside our flower bed.
I have tried using weed killers and I have had no luck in getting rid of them fully.
The flower bed is designed in a 3 tier block..now I have tried to dig out some of the dirt in the 3rd tier last weekend and I was having a bit of hard time with a shovel.
Any tips in digging out old dirt/soil quicker in the flower bed?

Ahh love mini golf.
Although I don't see where I go for the next hole?

Maybe dig some of the soil out of the beds get a good quality permeable membrane then top up with your gravel.pick out windblown weeds as they appear. Most weedkiller these days work by been taking in through established leaves. Gone are the days where you could kill everything for months with path clear.
What are your plans to "decorating" the space? Water feature, fire pit, outdoor kitchen?
It seems people have taken their GD attitudes and brought them in here.

Btw there is no such thing as a no maintence garden.

Not really. You have to take the negative comments as well as the positive.

For me, it's not really a garden. It's sterile and operating theatre like. If that's what you enjoy, then go for it but it's not for me.

One big issue you have is that nature will make its mark... Having a garden like that is just as hard to keep as any kind of "infiltration" by nature will be very contrasting against the rest of it... Be that weeds or a Winter when the nice shiny tiles get all marked by the weather.

Frustration of cutting grass/plants is replaced by frustration of keeping that one clean and tidy.

I haven't shared my future plans on what i'm doing with the garden, it's a blank canvas at the moment until funds are more available to start adding in things.
The photo I have shared is just when it has been completed, the artificial grass area with the hole is for a rotary line.
Yes it looks weird from a birds eye view and the weird "shape" is meant to replicate a footpath to an outdoor gym shed, that will be built in the near future.
I get where a lot of people are coming from with regarding to not liking the garden, at the end of the day its personal preference and I don't mind the negative feedbacks but the jokes are not constructive feedback.

I see some of you see are not a fan but its all personal preference, I am not a fan of grass or weeds at all.
As for the weeds growing the flower bed, I can top it back up and then put something on top to supress it yes, I just thought if I dig it all out so its just the base(the base should just be the foundation the landscaper used for putting down the porcelain) and then re-fill it with shingles instead.

A no effort garden could be created by concreting the lot, you're nearly there ;)

As for digging out the soil and spoil, even I at nearer seventy than sixty could shift the lot in a couple of hours, ( and ideally with the downing of a few beers). Play "16 tons" whilst you're at it.

I think you should do something like this instead

You could then charge your neighbours £5 a go to recoup the cost. What do you think?

No I do not need counselling, I am not a garden person which is clearly "obvious" why I do not have any bit of "green" in there. I prefer the minimum amount of maintenance required and it's been design that way for a reason.
So if you can all quit with the silly jokes and move on that would be great, if you all like walking into a jungle or mowing the lawn then more power to you but it's not for me. If you prefer using your garden for vegetation then again more power to you.

I thought you'd just get the wife to do it. Disappointed.
