Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

The two screen idea is sublime. I must say for the past couple of weeks when I've been "rimming" it my missus has been bored watching stuff on the laptop and then I have to pause mid game to watch shows that she wants. This is the perfect solution can cuddle and do completely different things :D

Almost finished with the Theater Room, Used a Denom AVR-5308CI amp/reciever.
with front left and right speakers Klipsch R-3800, the MTX HT2625W as a center, and 4 Klipsch R-2650 in the ceiling for Left right, and left right rear.

The Sub is a Polk Audio DSW MicroPRO 4000.

Projector is a Mitsubishi HC 6500, in 1080P. Displaying a 15 foot Display. ( Makes Sniping super easy... lol )

Still need to raise the rear seating area, above the Futon area.

Here are the new pictures. Will post more once I am done.

I wish I hadn't looked at those pictures of the 603s :( I would absolutely kill for some 603 S3s to finish my setup.

:D :D :D

After 3 months of searching, I picked up a fairly immaculate pair of 603 S3s this afternoon. One of the tweeters has been pushed in (too far gone for the hoover/selotape trick :() but apart from that they're in fantastic condition.

They're a Christmas present from my parents so they'll be going back to my Mum's house for a couple of weeks but I couldn't resist wiring them up and having a listen.

Bass output is somewhat impressive yet very smooth. Sounds much more relaxed than the 601s with my cheapo Jamo subwoofer.

£225 from eBay. I was willing to pay upto £250 for the right set so was happy with that.

I saw a couple of pairs pass by in absolutely awful condition (dented tweeters, cracked dust covers, cabinet damage) for just under £200.

The 680s replaced the 600 range. I've not heard them in person but would imagine that they'd be a worthwhile upgrade.

Did you buy your 602s new or 2nd hand? What series are they?

I would have thought that without the amount they cost new, people would take a bit more care. I paid £250 for my 601s brand new 6 years ago and they're in exactly the same condition as the day I bought them.

Now that I've got the full range of speakers, I'll look into upgrading the amp late next year to get more out of them. My Yamaha has been an excellent bit of kit but I'd like to upgrade to something a bit more modern.

I paid £300 for mine like 10 years ago, it is the S2 version in Cherry on Atacama filled stands. They basically have not been off or moved in 10 years, not taken the mesh off hence mint (except that tiny scratch!)

I am in the middle of replacing my set up and changing over from a stereo to a home cinema set up. The Marantz amp I got has lost the use of its balance knob and I am going to replace it with a Pioneer VSX-921 then think of some other speakers for rear and then will think of a power amp later on for music.

The Glasshouse passive pre is a kit from hifi collective first built with a Dact stepped pot but i couldnt live with steps so swapped the pot for a Noble which has a slightly warmer sound than the dact without any loss of detail.

Internal wire is Mundorf silver and gold selector switch is Elma and the sockets are audionote.
