Prevents the kids from messing and poking Tho I did try the sound bar below and from above and there wasn't any difference is the sound being carried around the room so I chose to mount the sound bar above the TV
EDIT think ive found it on the rainforest website. Colour changing? think 2 strips would be enough on a 55" plasma? It's not wall mounted so prob won't need one low down but worried about the width and light output for the space.
Yeah, the one from the rainforest @12.99. Few ppl have said the the adaptors have blown but the ones I've got resemble mobile phone chargers and not the ones shown in the picture. So I assume the sellers changed them due to the issues. 2x1m strips are sufficient for anything up to a 60" for a guess. They give off a lot of light.
Stereo: Mordaunt Short Aviano 6 floorstanders (fantastic)
Centre: Wharfedale Diamond 10.CS
Surround: Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 on Atacama stands (filled with builder's sand and on spikes)
Amplification: Onkyo TX-SR605 (what a good second hand buy these are if you don't need 3D)
Silverstone HTPC case with various C2Q-based gubbins and a HP IR65 receiver for Logitech Harmony
TV: LG 42PQ6000 (still enjoying this)
Virgin V+ Tivo jobbie
How I managed to get this lot past the wife I'll never know. Just wish our living room wasn't narrow and long, but the screen looks good from this distance.
Study setup:
PC feeding FLACs to Wharfedale 10.SR until I can pick up some MA BX2s local to me. The Wharfedales are currently being driven by an old Creative P5800 amp until I can pick up a decent integrated stereo amp locally. Been browsing eBay and AVForums for a decent Arcam or NAD.
Finally replaced my topfield 5810 PVR with something more reliable. (after it corrupted the file list again and broke all my recordings up into 1400 fragments that i'll have to try and edit back together) Replacement is a Humax HDR Fox-T2 1TB, which i've applied custom firmware to so i can access it anywhere.
My panasonic 50" UT50 plasma is holding up well with no problems encountered, certainly the best screen i've used.
