Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

I went to see a company in Reading the end of last year for renting a pro unit with that size Samsung display.......what do you do again? :P

Picked up the KDL46W905, I could not be happier:

It's certainly not a patch the majority of the kit posted here, but i'm slowly getting there. The only thing for me to do is move my current fronts to the rears and get a pair of 2050i's to replace them!

What a complete waste of cash...At least get your deco sorted first!

Looks daft on that stand!!!!

Whats wrong with it? It's his place. He can do whatever he wants with it. His place, his taste.

However, EyeDot! Oh… my… god! The picture with the guy. TV is nearly as tall as him. O_O Intense!

You should get a professional in, to calibrate that beast.

Jeci, very nice TV. Love the one DiCe! has as well.

Here's mine:

TV is a Sony KDL-40L40XX, Linn Centrik in Aktiv as centre speaker, with Linn Keilidhs in Aktiv as the front L&R speakers, for rear speakers I'm using Mission 771's for the surround-back I'm using Mordaunt Short MS302's, and subwoofer is a Yamaha YST-SW305.

On the top shelf is the Sky box, which is one of the new(ish) 1TB Pace boxes, and the Blu-Ray player is a Sony BDP-S550.

For the middle shelf there is the AV amp, which is an Onkyo TX-SR875, and I'm using a TAG McLaren CDT20R (CD Transport) going into a TAG McLaren DAC20 - There is also a squeezebox that plugs into this.

On the bottom shelf is a highly modified Audiolab 8000S, which has had the Linn Aktiv cards installed for the front L&R and centre speakers, the amp has had the power amps stage removed (previously heat damaged, and uneconomical to repair), there is now an AV input on the back where the pre-outs for the Onkyo amp connect and there is an input on the back of this amp for the centre pre-in and pre-out-Aktiv:

The rest of this shelf is power amps, these consist of a TAG McLaren 100P driving the treble on the Linn Keilidh's, 4xTAG McLaren 125M driving the bass on the Keilidh's. there is another TAG McLaren 100P for the centre speaker, with one channel doing bass and the other doing treble. There is then an Audiolab 8000P driving the rear pair of Mission speakers, and a Linn Roomamp currently residing behind the left Keilidh, but will soon be hidden in the loft space that is driving the surround-Back speakers.

are you serving XBMC off that microserver? In 1080p or 720p?

In which case have you put a GFX card in it etc etc, more info!

I'm running Plex (direct play), the plex server (dell 1u server) is located downstairs in a storage room and with it is stored my NAS (microserver) with all digital content on.

In the pictures you can see is my HTPC:

In this older picture (was running xbmc) you can see the two devices a little more clearly:

I really dont like my TV, it was a purchase out of needing a TV, it isnt easy to use, the picture quality is "ok" at best, smart functionality? Nahhhh

My sister and her boyfriend will be moving into their first house soon, I will be selling it to them for £75 and putting that towards something better :)

I have to agree that 84" set looks the business! But.. it really needs to be wall mounted! As it looks quite silly on that TV stand. Personally, I'd have bought a projector (that's if you haven't got one already that is!) if I was spending that sort of cash.
